what do you mean by page banner? an image that links to another site or the advertising banner for Keenspace?

In your /images/ folder. Depending on your FTP program you may have to get there from /public_html/.

With your code your it should look something like this:
<font color=cyan face="courier new"><img src=/images/my.gif></font>
Note: Keenspace is case-sensitive, the above code won't work if your image is 'My.gif' or 'my.GIF'.

same problem here... if I dont display the image dimensions its just a 40 by 40 white square... even with the dimensions it just becomes a LARGE white square.

Blank is your banner called banner.gif or jpg?

How it works is that the browsers assume that the image is on this server unless you tell it otherwise; your SRC '/images/my.gif' has them looking for 'my.gif' here on the forums (right click the box, click properties and you'll see what I mean).
To display an image off-site, include your url:
<font face="courier new" color=cyan><img src=http://<font color=white>username</font>.keenspace.com/images/<font color=white>my.gif</font>></font>

The bits coloured white are variables; you put your username where I've wrote "username" and the name of your image where I've put "my.gif", like so:

<font face="courier new" color=cyan><img src=http://<font color=white>gear</font>.keenspace.com/images/<font color=white>gear.png</a></font>></font>
<img src=http://gear.keenspace.com/images/gear.png>

<font face="courier new" color=cyan><img src=http://<font color=white>warpfactor10</font>.keenspace.com/images/<font color=white>party.gif</a></font>></font>
<img src=http://warpfactor10.keenspace.com/images/party.gif>

something intresting... when we did our banner picture, it used to be 40 by 40 and blank, then we put the sizes in and it was still blank...

loaded it on another computer and it showed, and on our other computer it didn't.

Everyone else could see it.

Wanna know why it didn't load? Naviscope tried to eat it because it was a banner.

So I suggest you check if you have any Ad killers running, turn them off, reload the page, and see if it loads up.

No, if you right-click and hit 'properties' you'll see he simply didn't understand how the SRC works. Shame he didn't give us his username, I'd like to know if he's got it now (and it'd given him the added bonus of being subtlely able to plug his comic).

The other big 'works on some computers but not others' I've seen is with PNG images; people choosing a color depth that's not supported by most browsers.

There's a new service called KeenSpot Prime that they'll be introducing soonish, which I imagine will be pretty much the same as KeenSpot Premium; you pay to view the comics without ads, and can access stuff that others can't. However for those who can't pay (or simply don't want to), the standard ad-driven service will still be around.

Your friend may have been confused by either <a href=http://miracle.keenspace.com/>The Makeshift Miracle</a> or <a href=http://oddjobs.keenspace.com/>Odd Jobs</a>, two comics that are actually part of <a href=http://www.moderntales.com/>Modern Tales</a>, a site which is subscriber-only.
Tell him that all KeenSpace comics that don't display this image are free and that's the way they'll stay. :smile:

I'm sorry, but I can't see anything there about having to pay to read KeenSpace comics.

If you could copy out what it says (and where), or post a pic here of what's said, I'll have a better idea of what's up.

The only pay comics site I know of is http://www.moderntales.com

KeenSPOT premimum just removes the ads.

KeenSPACE premium will be a pay comic hosting service like normal keenspace but no ads, php and mySQL access and some other goodies I'm forgetting at the moment.

KeenSPACE itself will remain as it is.
