Am I banned or something?

Wibbledeedoo~~~

This, as you know, is NeroMan, author of the regular ol boring footastic comic strip with the creative name of NeroMan's comic. However for the past month (OR SO!) I haven't been able to properly maintain my comic strip because I was unable to access my FTP. Whenever I attempt to enter that magickal world of files (via Internet Explorer), I get a message claiming my FTP was terminated. But what makes this crazy is that when I use computers other than the one at my homesweethome, everything works fine. This allows me to conclude that my home computer's IP address (24.141.245.50) was banned from the keenest of FTP? Why? Because simply, one of the sexy features of my website is a webcam, which I imagine could chew on bandwidth (but I recall reading zero restrictions on bandwidth). So it would be quite well if you could, perhaps re-allow me to get to my FTP, and I shall plae my webcam elsewhere.

ABOUT TIME!!!

Your webcam was set to update every 4 seconds, which was bringing down KeenSpace in a virtual DOS attack. To stop this, we had to call your ISP on a Denial of Service attack report. We could not contact you through any Instant Messenger service. We've also had to temporarily ban your computer from connecting.

Since we admins now have your attention, we can finally lift the ban.

And finally, about your webcam... I did see that your comic did feature a webcam look at you, but our FTP logs say that you were logging in every 4 seconds and really dragging down the system, shutting it down a few times while your cam was up. I can only say that you probably misconfigured it, and/or didn't think about the reprecussions of such a misconfiguration.

I will send you an e-mail further describing the actions you need to perform.

Eeek, sorry, I guess I did over-do it. This could also explain some othe problems I've had, with the picture not loading, I blamed that on my webcam though. Sadly, I don't know what a dos attack is, but I am aware I caused a Bad Thing which I'd rather not do again.

We could not contact you through any Instant Messenger service.

I find this particularly odd since I am constantly on AIM (ACDeceptibot), and you have my e-mail adress (acdbot@yahoo.com). I read (most) of the e-mails I receive from you kind, generous, attractive, intelligent people, but occasionally I skip one if I don't think it concerns me, and I might have deleted the e-mail by accident thinking it was spam. But such is of little consequence now...

That's completely reasonable, I'm just more than grateful that you fit the word "temporary" into your statement. Now I can update my comic like a happy little keenspace fellow. Thank you for not terminating my account like many other hosts would.

I din't know it would have such an impact, honest, I would never do anything to intentionally bring harm to my favorite free webcomic webpage hosting service. I suppose I should have checked with you guys first, in fact, I was going to, but I stopped and asked myself, "What would Ferris Bueler do?"

I was never really too angry, I don't get angry about super-fun free services. The best word to describe my feeling is "irked". Now I'm feeling, dare I say it? "Keen?" Nah, rather "releved". But what's the deal with only referring to me in pronouns? then again, I don't exactly deserve the extra publicity

I find your conditions to be nice and good, but my webcam was intended to be made to be watched, (it is an expensive piece of junk, afterall). So I think I'll shop around for other hosts before I use your offer. But I'm sure that some time, in the bright shining future, there will be some other magic individual who will try to have a webcam on his or her page, who will learn from my mistake.
