Siteadmin/ftp server slowdown?

Post by Ozydius »

Is it just me, or is it happening to anybody else? I ran an update to fix a problem with one of my pages, and after it said "no pending updates," I checked my site to see if anything changed, but nothing did. Anybody else having this problem?

Not after hitting the 'Refresh' button on my browser.

But if it was something that simple, I assume you wouldn't be posting. Giving the benefit of the doubt isn't always warranted, but this one's a no-brainer...

Well one thing I did as a test is empty out my entire server of any usable files, and then I ran a full update on siteadmin. That was about 15 hours ago, and it still shows broken pages of my website.

Okay, this may be a stupid question, but then again, I've run into many cases where the stupid question was the one that solved it, so here we go...

Are you deleting the file that's on the server before uploading the new file? Cuz I've found that uploading a new file of the same name DOES NOT overwrite the old file. That could totally, 100% be your problem here...or maybe not. But I wasted more of my time than I cared to before I figured that one out myself...

Hope it helps.

Uhh... can you elaborate on this one? If you've deleted any of the folders (such as the images folder) that are meant to be there, you may have permanently destroyed your comic account.

Please provide as much information as you can about what you did so we can help you out.

I've emptied out all the directories of everything I've added into it, but nothing that was there by default, aside from index and publictemplate; those I both erased. I haven't tried re-uploading my pages yet, but I'm about to, to test it out. Here's a list of the files I still have on the site.

comichash.sha1
comicgenlog.bz2
favicon.ico
.htaccess
rss.xml
nosteal.jpg

Those should be all the ones I need, correct?

I just noticed another thing about my server. In my Public_html directory, it automatically added a directory and subdirectory I once had in workspace into it, along with all the files that were initially inside that directory, but I'm completely unable to delete this director or anything within it.
