Buttons

Post by Floppity »

I've tried to find information on CG site layouts, specifically placement of buttons. I need to put them beside the comic and I can't figure out how to do it. When I align the buttons to the left, the buttons are in a nice column but the comic appears after the button column.

I only ask for help since my several hour-long search has turned up nothing. Thanks in advance ^_^

The way I do things like that is to make two tables and set them next to each other. One would be, say, 100 pixels wide, and the other would be 800 pixels wide.

For example, on my <a href="http://nakedelf.comicgenesis.com/">index page</a>, if you scroll down below the comic, you'll see two black sections--one with my tagboard, and one with the calendar. Obviously you don't need to make your sections stand out like that.

Here's some sample code which hopefully will help:

Code: Select all

<html lang="en" xml:lang="en"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head><title>Comic Title</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
charset=iso-8859-1" />
</head>
<body bgcolor="#006633" >

<div class="main" align=center>

<table width="80%" border="0">
<tr>
    <td width="103" height="200" valign="top" bgcolor="#ffffff">

    </td>
    <td width="533" height="200" bgcolor="#ffffff" >

    </td>
  </tr>

</div>
</body>
</html>
