After reading through all of this, I'm figuring it may take 48 hours to get the confirmation e-mail. So, if up to 48 hours is normal, why does the thing after you sign-up say that if you haven't recieved the e-mail within 1 hour that your e-mail account is no good? And why can't you check which e-mail you used (say, if I managed to mistype it twice) in the comic status, so you can just delete your application if you made a mistake, saving everyone time and trouble?

...just thinking that all this confusion I'm suffering might be avoidable.

Okay, lost once again. I got my password, I've verified it, I'm logging in. I get the 'logging in, if it load in 5 seconds click here' screen. Then it says "This page requires authentication, please goto the Login page". I go to the log-in page, log in, it does the same thing. I'm trapped in a spiral. What's up?

Same Problem

Post by ConsoleSmasher »

Greetings.

I'm having the same problem as bewareofkow and strangeharvard are. I get trapped in the same login loop. The "cookie write test" gives me a 404 error, but the form does work (I entered the wrong password once).

I've tried to log in using both my original password and the new one that I created on both Firefox and IE, as well as getting a friend to check using his computer. I've also dumped my cookies, cache, history, and saved form information, with no change.

Thank you in advance for your help.

It seems I dont have the right password when trying ot log in. I tried to click the "lost password" section on the front page but it gives me a page with "404 error" on the top.

I know the signup site said it would take about an hour for me to receive my confirmation email, but it's been like an hour and a half and nothing. Should I be woried, or is this a common thing?

Sugarneko and Jamal: There's a bit of a bug in the siteadmin login. To get to the new siteadmin, you need to sign in on the forums first, then log into Siteadmin in the same window.

Sugarneko: What url are you using? This one? http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com:8080/ ... ssword.cgi Try it in a different browser if it doesn't work.

Ratheri: The signup site should actually probably say to wait a day. That's about how long it took mine to get there. I don't know if it's whether I signed up with hotmail, or just the fact that it was a slow day.

So don't sweat it. There's a lot of waiting involved in your first couple weeks here. Instead of stressing out about it, try to kick back, go with the flow, and work up a nice big buffer. You'll be glad you did later. Image

Halfway There

Post by ConsoleSmasher »

Hi. Me again.

Thanks to Black Sparrow I'm able to access siteadmin. However, I still can't access ftp. It says my login information is invalid, even though I've tried all 3 (original password, new password I made, and forum login). Any ideas?

Again, thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Your username is going to be part of your URL. You can't have a space in it.

I signed up for an account very early this morning but I haven't gotten an e-mail yet. I checked the status of it and it says the e-mail's been sent. Do I just wait a little longer?

24 hours has become the standard waiting period. That's about how long mine took. Image

A few days ago, there were problems with all of CG. Have you tried again recently?

Make sure your forum log-in is active. Then, go to http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com and add your comic to your profile. Does that work?

Thanks Oualawouzou, I can actually upload a comic now.

However, the main page won't display the comic unless you click "previous comic", and I still can't seem to ftp in so that I can edit the html and make the site look less generic.

I'm getting closer though! Thanks in advance.

Don't forget the little prefix code. If you're in the U.S. or Canada, you have to put a 1 in the first box under "phone number", else it won't go through. There's a list of other countries' somwhere...
