My suspicion is that he could do that about as well as a human with hairy-end-of-the-bell-curve body hair could pass himself off as a chimp. I.e., maybe in the dark, but if they get any kind of a good look at him, no chance whatsoever. But we don't know yet whether they have ordinary raccoons in th...

It's good to know that the Raccoonans smell so nice. Who knew? I still have doubts about the wisdom of taking up with a thief. But Quentyn is obviously in a desperate situation. Beggers can't be choosers. Saw a raccoon scamper by in front of my car today. Naturally, I thought of Quentyn. Quentyn stu...

He is probably just telling him to give it a rest and get a life. Instead of those all night fairy ring sessions that bard-geeks engage in. ^_^

Re: He stuck it to them.

I'm more sympathetic with Quentyn in this set of panels. It seems principled to be willing to give up the title for autonomy. Maybe, as it turns out, it was really the council that wanted it both ways, and not Quentyn so much. But this bit with the council turning out to not even have real power is ...

Re: well put

It's not that I'm missing the point. It's that I'm not agreeing wih it. Whether there is a true exact counterpart for the questor role in our own societies that lacks accountability to others in a way similar to what the council wants over the questor is debatable at best. But regardless, I'm not ev...

Re: well put

As much as I like our hero, I have to disagree with him here. He can't have it both ways. He can't wear the badge, carry the name of the town, even be a semi-participant in the council to the extent that he can even call meetings, and also not be accountable to anybody. Some of the requests for obse...

Yeah, I'm having the same reaction. I know it's wrong, but I can't help but enjoy seeing Quentyn coming into his own. I hope we don't lose the cute coon we have come to know completely though. Questoring changes a person?

Youre right about the 165 to 147 thing (although wpuld be very OLD people) but Quentyn is 14, 15 something like that. That would make her at least 25+. That's one thing that I have trouble accepting about the whole story. Yeah, it's cute that Quentyn is only 15 at the most, but in the raccoon world...

One last thought, mebbe all these awkward weeting between Quentyn and Meribeth will start some sort of relationship between the two, every hero needs some sort of romantic interest. Edit: Is that tape on his shirt? I suspect that, for all the amiable femmes in his life, Quentyn's romantic prospects...

Hi folks. I promised myself I would never post to the Jack board. So much for self control. This latest debate has sucked me in! Have been a fan of David's work since the RTD days and enjoyed reading most of the early comics used in Jack on galleries before they were solidly placed in the Jack story...
