The detective is either REALLY fast, bulletproof when in 'shadowform', or has illusion powers (manipulation of shadows?). Since they are all facing the same direction now, perhaps a rear attack by the hostages and/or the posse is in the offing. Alternatively, since they are in a rough line, perhaps ...

Now, don't mistake Kestrel's teasing for what Quentyn's actually been doing.... He's sensible enough to spend MOST of his efforts bagging how-to manuals and the like. If I didn't have a weakness in the area of social intuition I probably would have realized that she could be exaggerating on that pa...

"Yes! Are you there?! There's a guy who just collapsed here...Umm, semi-canine, can't tell what the other part is... Oh, I am SO STUPID, yeah it's laying right here, some icecream!"

I may be speaking from ignorance (having never significantly physically injured anyone, nor seen such in person) but Quentin's selection of reading material implies both youthful resilience, and youthful lack of focus. The first I say because I wouldn't think that a modern soldier who has 'seen the ...

I would get the general impression that kenning is not something that requires a huge supply of Lux. Not that if anyone was the exception to this rule, it wouldn't be her... and evidently controling animals is rather tiring... but that is perhaps still not a matter of raw Lux resources.

I beleive that, at the very least they have to be touching the object in question. A bomb (like on the vault door, or place such that it would kill many of the hostages) would be a valid target. Trying to leave with a gun requires grabbing it, and might tend to bring the person holding it along for ...

From a physics point of veiw on very interesting option would be to warp the whole group to a position with the center of mass directly ABOVE Lobo... Just putting Bens feet a few feet above his head would do the trick. Raising the center of mass another few feet (how high ARE the ceiling in the lobb...

Thought on first panel: Nice. Reminds me of the city of Alexander Castle in Final Fantasy IX... a fortress with a waterfall coming out of it. Grand. Beautiful. Majestic and powerful. Thoughts on the rest of the panels: RULE!! The Hoover Dam of Lux! I SHOULD have wondered whether so much civilization...

Ok, so this guy is basically taken care of. Although Gunther better disappear, or at least make sure that that gun he is toting is plausible for a civilian to own, before the police show up to take the guy in. The 'decoy' theory might still work. Lobo and Co. are still (mostly?)unaccounted for... I ...

First: I just want to point out that I hypothesize Ben was pawning stuff to buy an engagement ring. Second: On the subject of the holdup. The part about simultanious robberies had occured to me as well. Next I note in http://utlt.keenspace.com/d/20010131.html panel 2 that it lists that Ben has a con...

Well, I guess violent temper tantrums are childish... but I don't think that is much of the point. I think that this is all a game to Velvet for the most part... which is why he is paired with Gunther.

If that is the one where a bus containing a certain business breaks down in town...
That one was intentionally removed by Ralph. He eventually came to the conclusion that the think he was doing the guest appearance with had turned into something that he could not condone from a moral point of view.

Between the scene with the Mudgullet and having had a peek into her mind the Frog Mage has all the data he theoretically needs to draw some fairly accurate guesses about WHAT she did, and probably even to get some idea of WHY she was able to do it.

I am sure that .1% of the contents would be more than sufficient to sooth any hurt feelings... especially if they doused it in lots of water (something they have in great supply) and scraped it off with a rake first.

My guess would be it is visible to kenning, and less so, or not at all to normal sight.
Same for the corrisponding glow in the mudgullet's eyes.

Now that the creature has deposited its treasure, will Nessie lose her influence over it, or will she be able to control it long enough to tell it to leave? I expect most of those Rac Conan will be happy to see it go, but there may be a couple who are thinking, "Fire up the roaster and break out th...
