If you like film noir/mysteries or nonstandard storytelling technique like watching a logic puzzle unfold (our main character has no short term memory (cf. Gene Wolfe's Soldier in the Mist) so keeps obsessive notes and polaroid photos to try to remember what's going on as he tries to solve a mystery...
