Comics Not Updating - Something is clearly wrong
I surfed to my comic this morning and couldn't help but notice that it hadn't updated to today's page. I checked, and yes, today's comic has the correct file name. So I surfed over to SiteAdmin, and I saw that there as 7768 comics waiting to be updated. And it's been sitting at that number for a whi...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
I think you misunderstand. Or maybe I do. But to clear things up, I'm saying that Captain Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard, and Malcom Reynolds have interesting quirks, personalities, and characters, while I see nothing of the sort in any of your characters . Yes, they have beliefs, ideals, and goals, but the...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
My only preference in Dare is that her personality is more interesting. Both archetypes are fun. But Dare's character has a kick to her that makes her seem more real. Perhaps, but...I'm still of the opinion that the reason she has that kick is because of the Superman-Batman Spectrum and where she f...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
While I want to respond to your latest post about art, BionicDance, it seems like it'd be polite to give you what you want first, so here are my thoughts on your story. Thank you. :) Your pacing and dialog in the hijackers storyline is very nice. Things move quickly and you keep the action coming. ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
But you specifically picked comics, which is a visual storytelling medium. There's more to making comics than sticking talking heads into panels and slapping word balloons on top of it. If the art is off-putting it doesn't matter what you wrote; people will be too focused on the bad anatomy and bad...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
But maybe the fact that everyone's focusing on the art instead of the story should tell you something...? Well, it doesn't, not given what I know about human nature. People like to show off, which I see all the time; you could crack a hilarious joke about Einstein or Mother Theresa, and someone wil...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
Seems someone can't take constructive criticism, but I'm not gonna say who. I'll let you decide who that is. Seems to me that someone can't take no for an answer and gets huffy when their opinions aren't treated as sacrosanct. I'll let you decide who that is. Besides, once again, I'm much mo...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
I find it a little disappointing when artists use "style" as a reason to avoid improving their art. One can always improve and still stick to the same style. Well, I hate it when people use what they'd RATHER see--as opposed to what they're getting--as if it were an objective measure for "correct" ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
All of your examples are from anime so far. Got any non-anime examples? Me, I grew up on comics like ElfQuest ...check out the main character, Cutter: http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/CutterGal/Cutter.gif His eyes are ginormous, and no different than the eyes on the female characters, with the possible ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
See, Haruhi's eyes are enormous but there's enough space around them and between them to make it look ok. Actually, THAT looks quite creepy to me; there'z actually TOO MUCH space between her eyes. She looks walleyed, frankly. She might as well be the fellow at the microphone here, for my money: htt...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
Bah. Alright I read the thing, here's your plot critique. First, Karina is not a Mary-Sue. She is also not the most original character, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. She's meant to be your typical adventuring hero type, it's true. Luke Skywalker meets Jean-Luc Picard, basically: warrior ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
As for your writing, from what I skimmed I've seen much better and I've seen much much worse. It's a bit cliche and Kanira's an obvious Mary Sue, but it could be worse. You know, I take exception to this. Hell, I take exception to your whole attitude, your obvious antagonism, but I definitely take ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
One thing I'm noticing is that it seems mostly just the people HERE who seem to have a problem with my characters' eyes; non-artists really don't seem to mind too much. Also, I've animated these character models before, and NOBODY seems to mind at all when they're animated. Not sure quite why not. R...

So if I understand this correctly: uploading a new daily template and index template will overwrite the generic ones, and it should update the HTML & CSS along with your webcomic, correct? Not...quite. If there are OLD ones in there, ya gotta delete them first. I ran into this problem once or twice...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
Anyway, I don't think anyone would ever say improvement isn't a good thing. Besides, just a tad bit of realism can go a long way in making the animation less distracting to the overall comic. But I'd have to agree that it's "improvement", or that "realism" is necessarily one of my goals. I mean, I'...

God, I hate bumping this, but It's been a month and still not even one review. :( I'm sorry...I want to review it, give it the same treatment you gave mine. But the subject matter doesn't really float my ducky, so I'm having a difficult time reading it beyond maybe ten pages. I mean, yeah, okay, I ...

Re: COMIC: The Adventures of Kanira Baxter
Well, I read it, and found it original and entertaining. It's no Firefly, but its still early in tha game. Excellent, thanks. :) If you read the OP, you know how I like to describe the comic in movie terminology, the whole Firefly/Star Wars/Star Trek/Babylon 5/Jetsons/NASA thing I said...it's defin...
