Re: Character Arena

(OOC: I like the description. It was descriptive. :) Just to be clear, my understanding of english says that 'guild ranking tryouts' is the proper form for both plural and singular. In this case, plural. :) Also, it was suggested more as a safer place to pick fights. :) ) Behind your back Bo...Sylve...

Re: Anyone up for a dungeon crawl? OOC thread

Decided to go a bit looser on the rules. Since the three gobbos are all in the same square, you can roll two attacks and take the better.

Don't forget, attacking prone bonus too.

MORTO COMBAAAAA!!!!! Round 1: Fight! Initiative: (1d20 1=2, 1d20 1=8, 1d20 1=20) As the camera pans accross the entrance, you can see everything slow down...First, there is a yelling of war cries. Then, there is a slapping of splayed feet. And then, you see a gobbo running down the hall. With exqui...

Hey, I have no problem keeping on GM'ing. Especially since my writers' block just decided to start breaking. :)

Re: Dungeon Crawl IC thread

Mork looked at Bork. Bork looked at Tork. Tork looked at Mork. "They's backing up?" "Yupz." "Why theys backing up?" "Dunno." "Well, what happen?" "They's back up." "When they stand up?" "No, they's back up when they back up. No stand up yet. Tunnel too small!" "But if they...Oh, forget it!" You rea...

Re: D&D 4th Ed Speculation

Very positive review starting here.

It doesn't go into great detail; more a bunch of overviews.

Also, rules compilation and prediction here, based on gathered information.

Mixed playtest review here.

Sleep.

Re: Character Arena

"This would be my fifth year" he says with a smile. "This grouping is pretty much out of my reach, too, but they do have the more spectacular duels. And you can learn a lot by watching those more skilled than you." He pauses for a moment. "The guild ranking tryouts start a few hundred feet thataway"...

Re: Character Arena

Obvious footsteps approach from behind and a lean, whipcord man with a narrow sword and leathers walks up to you, stopping at a non-threatening distance. "Bit intimidating for a newcomer, isn't it?" He says cheerfully. "Don't worry. People tend to clump together by how tough they think they are. Bes...

Re: As you may have been able to tell...

Yeah, I probably would be able to get it - But I do want the book first, to make sure. :)

Some things, I'm still working on understanding. Mechanical stuff, for example. Confuses me to nearly no end. :)

Re: Character Arena

Hey, this is pretty much player-driven. It's not a formal league or something :) - Outside of the duel, it's pretty much GM-less. But if you want a start... All around you are crowds. Massive humanoids with weapons to match; wizened wizards wielding mystical powers (Say that three times fast), swash...

Re: Sketchbook Sundays!

One of my more successfull characters in Adom was a troll wizard wielding a log. He actually got pretty good at spells, for a troll. Died at ninth level.

Re: As you may have been able to tell...

I'd have to buy the book and check out how the game runs before I could say for sure. I don't want to start playing only to find I'm dead weight because I can't get a major part of the setting.

Re: Character Arena

Depends what other people are willing to make.

Throw in some backstory and vengeance dialog and you've even got a story in there.

For a moment, there is a wavering, gray blur...

Suddenly, Korgan can see the light at the end of the tunnel again...Almost as if Jakob was missing...

...And the new end of the blanket has been sheared cleanly through...
