Re: My Other Comics

You don't have to have a name among the geeks. It's basically a bunch of chicks bidding on geeky guys and all the proceeds go to charity. Who knows, I may put out a bid on you. The only catch is that at the dance that night, you're supposed to dance with whomever bought you. In that case you...

Re: Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

I've got a video my cousin gave me of one of his friends firing a 12gage for the first time. The Shotgun jumped right out of her hands. It's really quite comical. I'm going to have to post that video soon.

Re: My Other Comics

Thank you all for the encouragement. I knew I could count on yawl to make me feel better. It's a pity to hear that. truth be told, I was always a little envious of people who could make good Caricatures. Caricaturing is a craft that takes years to perfect. Even if you're a prodigy it still takes tim...

Re: My Other Comics

I don't think I have enough of a name among the geeks to garner much of a bid. I'd probably end up like the cameraman on Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day". Some old lady would buy me for $0.25

Still, maybe by the time it rolls around I'll feel more confident about it. We'll see

Re: Off Topic Chit-Chat

Egad, that is a horrific pun! XD You could say; "Tragically Bad" You know, it's funny, at all the conventions the "Tragically Bad Puns" are my biggest hit, but on the web the "Survival Tips" are my biggest hit. I think it's because at the convention people are in a little bit of a hurry to see the ...

Re: My Other Comics

I went to my first furry convention a few months ago, and had a great time. It was called Furry Weekend Atlanta. I made a video all about it. A link to the video is at the bottom of my homepage.

Re: Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

Hello Specter, and welcome to the forum. Feel free to tell us all about yourself. There's not many people here yet, but the ones that are here are very friendly. Ahh, crabapple battles, that and stick sword-fights brings back the memory's. Now that you mention it, we did have a few stick fights too....

Re: Other Webcomics

Yah, that’s the idea. On the Jimmy Kimmel show they even go so far as to blur out parts of the video too.

Imagine if you will, the video of a wrestling match with the fighters locked together in a death grip and part of the picture is blurred out.

Re: Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

Idea: Went to our local pistol range, where we have several gongs... Now I could "paint" the gongs, then fire my regular pistols, see how my accuracy was, then repaint them if I made any adjustments! =^^= (Was almost surprised that nobody complained...) They were probably thinking, “That’s a good i...

Re: Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

Acorns do have the advantage of being more numerous. You can pick them up by the handful around the base of a large acorn tree. I remember at one point my friends and I had a five gallon bucket full of them behind every tree in the side yard. We then invited some rival neighborhood kids to have an a...

Re: Off Topic Chit-Chat

It's funny you two would mention football the day before I use it in a comic. In reality I'm board by football. I just don’t see the point in watching a bunch of guys in matching outfits fight to get a football up and down the same field for hours. Anyway, this idea was given to me by a friend in tr...

I don't know anything about Stellarcon. But I have heard good things about WTH con from Jennie Breeden. And, I do like Jennie Breeden. I'll see if I can go to WTH con next year.

Re: My Other Comics

LOL

That's some pretty creative funny dialog you've got going there, and the little quip about the college student at the end was priceless. You sound like you've done some satirical writing before.

I think I know what you're talking about. Is it like the "Unnecessary Censorship" segment on the Jimmy Kimmel Show? I love that bit.

Re: Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

We had acorns too, but I preferred crabapples over acorns because crabapples splatter against the sides of houses or trees. Even if you miss the person the splatter is still pretty intimidating, and the sticky spray is not without a little satisfaction.

Re: My Other Comics

I did create a Deviant Art account at one point, but that was a long time ago. I don't know if I would even be able to find it now.

I may get back on it one day, but right now it would be too hard for me to keep up with.

Re: My Other Comics

You're right, I was going for a stylized flowing look. Good call. I had the movie "Equilibrium" in mind when making it. Sometimes I get board and decide to stretch out and try my hand at some other styles hoping that the readers enjoy the ride. In my experience, readers get board with a chronically ...

Re: Other Webcomics

You know, I’ve never one time heard anyone say “I won’t read that comic because it doesn’t have enough cuss words in it.” But, I have however heard it the other way around. Profanity can do nothing but hurt the salability of a comic.

Re: Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

I've never been a picky eater. In my family it wasn't about what you ate, it was more about getting it before it was all gone.

I have a really strong stomach too. I can eat sardines then eat donuts, and drink orange juice, and then smile about it.
