Why do I see a joke about useless weapons coming up?

Also, which character is the Gau-like oddball fighter (i.e., unbelievably powerful but incredibly tedious to power up)?

Looks like I have to double-post to say: Why limit it to the final boss? Why not have the bard switch to the Guitar Hero controller for every battle?

I'm moderately type 1 - I customize somewhat, and I actually plan my attacks, but I don't customize down to the hairs on my characters' heads or do it when I feel like it's worthless.
