If it helps at all, Nightstar appears to have some kind of Java chat client-y thing built into their webpage. Run a search for irc.nightstar.net and you should be able to pull it up. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I should be doing to get onto the channel, but it shouldn't take all that...

A quick, toss-and-duck idea: some comics have a reader's guide, which acts as a combined list of arc links, story summary, and organizer. Could we modify this idea to include a 'characters featured in this story' kind of thing? An example of the 'reader's guide' idea can be found at http://untitled....
Apropos link for the list:

I can't claim to have any experience with this kind of thing, but I think that the proprietary (read copyrighted) art is basically the crux of the matter. I'd say something along the lines of "Yes, we're hoping to use SourceForge for general hosting, but if we can't put art up, can we at least use i...

'Kay. cool. As an idea, just for the tech demo, why not have it set in the starting town, have a couple shops, about three buildings, maybe a dozen wandering npcs, and a short quest involving getting something, then trading it to someone, who gives you something else, which you then give.../about fi...

While we're waiting, we can of course be discussing design questions... One of my favorites is: how cr@ppy do we want the graphics? Actual Zelda? Pokemon? Or is this more of a multi-section sprite kind of dealy? Or 3D cel-shading? Or is there possibly a game that has the right 'feel' that we can imi...

With all due respect, does he even know that this comic/forum exist? Provably? I've not been through all the forum archives yet, but it seems improbable. As regards getting an SF account, forgive my squeals of glee; it's the first time I've worked on a project that's gotten farther than the drawing ...

From what I've read on their docs page, anyone who wants to contribute and is registered in Sourceforge can. We can't lock interested parties out, even if they don't meet our criteria; all we can do is track which account introduced or fixed which bug or feature. 'Tis the nature of open-source. And ...

Cool stuff! I especially like the idea of having a 'swimming' map versus a 'surface' map. A hijack, if I may: I'm confused as to whether there's a separate battle mode, or if it's just part of the travel mode, or what. In essence, are we doing Zelda/Legend of Mana or Final Fantasy? Each has unique c...

Can be, although I think most are on centralized servers. To put it into Unix terms, everyone who accesses the site has read and write permissions to all of the articles, i.e., s/he can edit them at any time, in any way. There's usually a change log kept, and some varieties keep the older pages even...

Root unknown; I suspect it to be a neologism, although I'll probably be proven wrong. The most visible example is Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/Main_Page) The primary property of a wiki of any variety is that it can be edited by whoever wishes to do so. The central idea is similar to that of op...

Greetings, all. I'm a fairly new graphics coder, but not new to programming in general. That aside, this sounds like a great tribute project, very interesting, and something that I'd like to involve myself in. That aside, might I propose a wiki? The tech is stable and proven, the hosting is free, an...
