Something's just not getting through here. I'm not saying that as Artist you are obligated to become friends with you readers and seek their opinions. I'm saying that if your art is out there and someone views it, you've just communicated with your audience. That's true, but it doesn't mean I have ...

Then you're both wrong. No. You're being absurd. The act of putting out your comic is an invitation into your world, an invitation to care about the lives of your characters. We expect people to come to our page several times a week and invest their time into something we created, in the process ge...

The argument is about of what would be the best way to finish a comic. Yes, I realize that. And certainly, if you care for your readers, then you should end it in a way that provides closure. Personally, I do not feel any obligation towards people I don't know who do next to nothing for me. Anyone ...

No! Don't let John Solomon win! But seriously, you have to decide what's right for you. I think the whole "give it a proper ending" argument is bullshit. If that's what you want, fine, but it's absurd to feel any obligation to faceless strangers that don't give a fuck about you, only how big you dra...

Good story. I don't know what it's like in Canada, but how decent is $10 an hour? Depends on where you live. In a city like Toronto, I doubt it amounts to much, but it's not bad where I live. Just for compariosn, minimum wage (For those over 18) is $8/hour. I'm not sure what it is for those under 1...

Seeing as how I said Vertigo is "All kinds of awesome," in my last post, it's obvious I agree. However, I was talking about DC in general, not their offshoot labels like Vertigo. (Which again, is supremely awesome. Fables is one of my favourite comics ever.) I feel publishers need to find a balance....

To be fair, I think Marvel and DC have made vast improvements to their policies in regards to creator rights. They know their talent (Except the exclusive guys.) can ditch them for better publishers, so now they have much better offers than in the past. Also, both companies have creator-owned divisi...

I wouldn't participate in this, but only because I dislike publishers like DC that I feel are too commercial and don't care about the comics medium beyond how they can profit from it, (I realize it's a business, but it's a business that has to do with art, so while they have to be commercial, I don'...
