But yes, good fora are hard to find... That's the impression I get from reading what people have to say about the majority of internet users, but honestly, I have seen very few forums that are as bad as Eff is saying. I know they're out there, but I think there are a lot of forums largely consistin...

Re: I Love You Guys

Sprite and stick figure comics were everywhere, there was bickering going down that to any sane observer resembled monkeys throwing @%#! at each other. One particular thread "What is ur age??" really drove the point home. As each respondent chimed in with a number in the low teens, and expressed ab...

In regards to limiting your audience, don't we all, as storytellers, need to limit our audinces? You can't make a story that will satisfy everyone, and I feel that if a story is not charged with passion from the storyteller(s) involved, it will be a soulless husk that will appeal to noone. I mention...

Anyway, since you obviously want an explanation, I simply do not find the idea of a man exposing himself to children (Though I have confidence Dutch would never do su...

That guy wrote:Wow. So thinly veiled, both of you. I'd hardly realized you were catting at each other at all. Now, either put up in vaudevillian fisticuffs or knock it off.
Believe it or not, my last comment was simply an explanation and a sincere apology.

Well, given how judgemental you can be sometimes, I couldn't help but assume you were insulting me. In any case, I apologize for misinterpreting your comment.

I think dismissing Penny Arcade's success as being solely due to its gaming roots is selling it a bit short, and ignores its strengths. I agree, so it's a good thing I didn't do that. The fact is that there are multiple reasons for Penny Arcade's success. I'm sure it is well-written, as I've never ...

I've masturbated at work.

I remember that one. That poor, poor woman... and fair enough. Did you notice the sound effects? I thought that was a nice touch. Also, I think the reason the types of strips you're talking about do so well is because a lot of young people that are familiar with those icons use the internet. This i...

I've never heard anyone say it here, but I came across it in a short story by an English (I think) author.

I do very little research. I just can't stand it. Fortunately, it's only very rarely necessary for my current comic, but if I ever write anything else, I'm sure those stories will suffer a great deal from my lack of discipline. Oh well.

If I go any further I'll end up a broken record pissing everyone off (more), so instead I'll just say that all autobiographies end by necessity before the author dies. When the time comes, it shouldn't be hard to write in how you're moving on from your comic, especially since you apparently don't h...

To echo others, if this is really what you want to do, then you need to do it. Either learn on your own with the aid of anatomy books, photographs, models, whatever, or go to a drawing class. I'm sure there's an art school or college in your area that offers life drawing classes. Or, if you're like ...

Shishio - One-Liners isn't a storytelling comic. You're not telling an ongoing story. If you ended your comic abruptly your readers, including me (an avid fan) would be sad to see the comic go, but there wouldn't be any loose threads you failed to tie up. Not to mention the fact that since it's aut...

Anyone up for a one-night stand? COMIC STYLE?

I'm looking for people who want to draw guest comics I'm working on.

This time I'm hoping to do one for Cartridge Comics, (Deadline is August 1st) The Slackerz, (August 5th) and Geek Tragedy. (He's on a "semi-hiatus," so whenever, I guess.)
