FIRST: sorry this is so damn long . . . I was only going to do a brief comment but got a bit carried away . . . I did a quick sketch . . . in MS Paint oddly enough . . . of what I think people are talking about. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b317/foolcatz/nicotinecrit.jpg Given you have already ...

The changes you've made make the site much more easy on the eyes. Also, I forgot to mention in my first post that I really liked your "title" image. Looks really good. Becasue the title image is such a strong image you might want to consider this: Instead of using the hourglass for the button that l...

I don't know how big you are working, but if you are drawing this and scanning it I would try a Sharpie marker for the inking. The kind that has the fine AND ultra fine tips. I recommend this because . . . It appears you don't have a ton of detail so this would be perfect and give your lines a real ...

Sorry for posting here again. I tried to PM mcDuffies but it wouldn't go through and I'm not sure why. mcDuffies: Do me a favor and READ my posts before you click on the "quote" tab. YES, in my response to your response I was OVERLY caustic. I admit it, and I do apologize. Not to you of course, but ...

Interesting, but might I suggest trying to maintain a consistent update scheduele. I noticed some weeks you have 4 updates and other weeks none. It would give people more reason to be interested in your comic if they could count on a strip say twice a week on monday and friday or somesuch. I hate ch...

Re: Looking for some advice on how to improve my comic.
I like the example "christwriter" used and I think it fits. Let me give you another one. You want to color something: You have Crayons You have Berol Prismacolor markers The FACT is, that at the end of the day the Prismacolor markers look the best. Now yes, style can be taken into account, but only...

Now, back to Castle_Builder: You said a lot of nonsence, made a lot of generalizations and put words in people's mouth that they never said. FIRST ~ You a) ask for ways in which you can improve "anything" your words not mine and then b) say you are "not willing to change" which ultimately means tha...

http://img275.imageshack.us/img275/39/photoshoppea5rs.png Original is here: http://peabody.comicgenesis.com/d/20050916.html (note: I made that original when I was still saving things as jpg instead of bmp or png, so pretend it's slightly better image quality.) I only did the first three panels, sto...

Re: Looking for some advice on how to improve my comic.
I just don't understand how people can honestly sit as say it's a "style" choice etc. Bad artwork is bad artwork. Granted people have differing opinions and what not but ultimately mspaint is a BAD tool to use and not wanting to use a more effective program without having some sort of logical reaso...

Re: Looking for some advice on how to improve my comic.
SECOND ~ DON'T use mspaint. It looks like shit. It's an automatic turn off. Even if the writing is funny, take longer then 10 mins to lay out your comic. Unless this is just something "for you" and you "don't care" what other people think, which is what most people say when they get defensive about...

Usually I am an elitist snob when it comes to comics that don't have what I pompously call "good" art, but I am undone here. I love it. Mostly it's the writing but it makes me laugh. The reason the art works is that there is a REASON for it. Without the art being what it is the writing would not mak...

Your artwork ability is clearly in the development stages so all I'll say is that by making the character(s) so dark it makes it really difficult to interpret/see their expressions. I feel it's hiding a lot of linework that I am inclined to want to see. Generally ~ I hate to say it, but your site de...

Yay! thanks for all the positive comments. I was expecting more criticism than praise on this one, since I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing. Breathing smoke could be a good idea! I will definitely try that one out. Since you asked for crits . . . ONE ~ The Smoke ~ I don't get it. You don't wan...

Re: Looking for some advice on how to improve my comic.
Hello, hello. I started my webcomic, Peabody Comics , about a month ago, and I'm looking for some general advice on ways that I can improve anything about the comic or website before I put it up in the pitching forum. As for a little introduction, Peabody Comics is a gag comic about a world of edib...

I don't agree. I think the comic is fine the way it is. I would rather scroll right to see more panels then scroll down just to see the second half of a panel that is so big the whole thing does not fit on my screen. I use a high resolution on my comp so I see things differently then some, but serio...

I hate feeling like I have to say this but COME ON. You MUST be joking. I can't stand pampering people so I'm going to put this bluntly. How the paper is cut has NOTHING to do with drawing a rectangle and NO it is NOT necessary to "cut" "trim" "whatever" the 14x17 board to 11x17 And even if you DO c...
