Leeches have proven very effective when reattaching things like fingers. After sewing the fingers back on the doctor uses leeches to pull fresh blood back into the reattached area with leeches. Greatly increases chances of a successful reattachment. Maggots are perfect for removing dead flesh from a...

Digitigrade legs: Rarely do I see this done well. (Digitigrade means "crooked doggy legs," btw.) They rarely take into account issues like center of balance or strain on joints. The only point I have on digitigrade legs is the fact that some medical professional modeled the proper way to walk for p...

Sorry Sharuuk, he is closer. You used 22/7; which is a fractional equivalent used by lower level math classes. His is more accurate, as 22/7 is NOT all that accurate past 3 significant digits. EDIT: arg, sorry, I missed a whole page of information saying the same. Sorry that I missed it. Note to sel...

I thought is was a hold that can be used to control the offenders movement. One of my former co-workers at camp is a Marine, and he bet one of the other guys that he (the Marine) could beat him in a one-on-one fight (No blood, or other nasty stuff, just to a tap-out). Mike, the other guy, played on...

I was lucky. I may have come in late, but I have a fast connection and an even faster reading speed so it only took about 3 hours to devour the archives. Now all I need is a job so I can get the CDs. Muahahaha!

...and so I can get a house and food for the summer. Erk! :o

Ah... but RH always says that the lux isn't magic. It's a simple property of the world... sort of like electromagnetism for instance. Just because we (humans) cannot see it with our naked eyes, doesn't mean it's not there.

I don't know, I think calling Coneheads a good movie is stretching it. I know I watched it once, but I have no desire to see it again. Waynes world I have watched a few times, but that's more because my friends wanted to see it again. Hmmm... maybe my sense of humor is just busted.

Amusing how this went from a posting about an RPG system of magic that one liked in a FANTASY setting, to a discusion of "magic" in the real world. Well, not so amusing as sad. Reminds me of Chick tracts. "Don't go watch Disney's Beauty and the Beast as it shows Black Magic!" pfffft Reading some of ...

It may not be legal to use mind control rays either.

On the other hand, if everyone can keep donating, maybe RH can make this his full time job. It'd be cool if the artist could survive by doing one's art.

He'll especially need that understanding since he cannot go to far without the blade. I'm not sure what the exact consequences would be, but leaving the bonded item behind seems to be either a BAD idea, or impossible.

Maybe we'll get to hear more about Nessie, or the priest who went into the swamp. I know it seemed like just a little side story, but I'd love to see more about it.

I, too, believe in a good education, whereever it may come from. However, I find it hard to imagine getting a decent education in any public school. I am a military brat, one who has spent time overseas as a child. As such, I fall under the category of a third culture kid. If you don't know what tha...

Oh yes, I can say for a certainty that we have been. They hail from the planet Ghalinek, which orbits Sirius B. They ...

Well, we do have vetigial tails (it's called the coccyx I believe?) ... and some very rare persons might actually be born with a little nub of a tail there. Also, if you get ahold of information on fetus development, then all humans have a tail for a little while.

Have to agree with UncleMonty.

A lot of games and comics I've read that deal with magic used tapped to mean out of magic/mana/lux/whatever. I've even heard some of my friends use the phrase IRL to simply mean exhausted. Or broke  Depending on the situation.

The only laws you truely need are the Ten Commandments. Every just law created can be filed under one of those first ten laws. However, we get stuff like Leviticus because man ever loves to complicate things. Ten simple rules are not enough, they say, we need to specialize and complicate! Thus we s...
