In that case it's likely that at least for now Rahan has a meaningless, do-nothing job which basically amounts to an "allowance" from daddy.

McDonalds and Wal Mart are always hiring.
That's true. And if you work at both for 40 hours a week you might make enough money to live on.

I think I better watch from a distance..I'll be over here with my martini.

(As far as I'm concerned, the perfect martini is as follows: two parts gin, one olive, and I drink it while looking at a picture of a bottle of vermouth)

This isn't an overnight phenomenon. The unions have been like this from the get-go. NEA, UAW, SAG, Teamsters, they're all the same. They extort the business (or the schools in the NEA's case), and they extort their members. The top bosses get paid HUGE cash, and in most cases the union has a strangl...

Or they could just make their OWN movies.... If they're content with having their film played in extremely limited distribution and discarded by the general public, then yes they can. The SAG controls the theaters as well as the studios. They have a stranglehold on every cineplex in the nation. Nev...

A union may begin with the best of intentions, but as is often said "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". Unions are destroying this country. You need look no further than the United Auto Workers union. What's this union costing this country? Over the next several years the UAW is going ...

Re: Blacklisted?

Okay I did not see THAT one coming... :o She's been blacklisted? By whom? Probably by the guy she's working for. She threatens to quit and he says "Quit and you won't get a job bussing tables in this town." and then makes good on his threat. She looks for work and finds all prospective employers......

It seems the upper hand is on the other foot...er..wait....that doesn't look right, let me try again.

The shoe is on the other cheek now.. no...that's not right either.

Anyway, you know what I'm trying to say. Q's about to give the council a taste of its own medicine.

OK, let's steer this thread back on topic for a moment. If this were me, first I'd spend about five minutes screaming into a sack or something about how ridiculous this all is. Then after I calmed down I'd write them a very short, concise letter, pretty much as follows: "Thanks, but no thanks." Basi...

I figured Quentyn to be Neutral Good as opposed to Lawful Good. He'll work within the established system MOST of the time, but isn't afraid to bend (or outright break) the rules when necessary. But I agree that a rudimentary education of the laws of the land would be a supremely good idea for Quenty...

I know my parents wouldn't have reacted this well if I'd been in as much trouble as Quentyn was.

I'm fairly certain that if I wound up in jail for what he'd gotten into, my stuff would be packed up on the front steps.

http://members.aol.com/Wisdomway/image44.gif There is a rough map of the Euphrates river. The shortest path starts at Israel's extreme north to northeast border and goes northeast. They COULD cut straight across through Jordan, but that would be a longer route. Going northeast, they'll intercept the...

Here's a conspiracy theory for you guys. It's been around for a year or so, but it's still interesting. First off, I'll state that anyone who thought we went to war in Iraq because of oil is completely missing the entire point of why we're over there. This war couldn't be any LESS about oil. Second,...

The good news is he doesn't have to deal with Rahan yet.

The bad news is now he has to deal with his parents.

The worse news is eventually, he's STILL going to have to deal with Rahan.

It's not a metaphor, it's not a poetic phrasing, every single syllable in the Bible is GOD'S OWN TRUTH, an...
