Re: I'll review your webcomic.
As a fan of the fantasy genre and a former Dungeons & Dragons player, I should be the perfect target audience for fantasy webcomics, but I actually kind of dread reading them. A lot of the time, it's like creators use the genre as an excuse to be uncreative. I mean, there are already enough webcomic...

Re: Ideas for next-level webcomics journalism
I'm not interested in discussing that right now. I am, however, interested in hearing what you have to say about the questions I presented in my initial post.Bustertheclown wrote:Is it really all that necessary any longer to make a distinction between comics on the web and comics found in other formats?

Re: Ideas for next-level webcomics journalism
Awesome. That's the kinda stuff I was looking for. Okay, I see what you mean. I know there's been sites in the past that have done like tabloid style highlights of "what's going on this week in webcomics" but my experience with those is pretty limited because they usually all tended to discuss the s...

Re: Ideas for next-level webcomics journalism
Thanks for your detailed response, but I'm really referring specifically to the idea of webcomics journalism. I'm not sure exactly how to define that, but I'm basically talking about webcomics fans creating journalism-type media about webcomics. Webcomic reviews are the most obvious example, but I'm...

Ideas for next-level webcomics journalism
What are some of your ideas that aren't for webcomics, but are for stuff that's related to webcomics? Which webcomics-related projects already out there do you like the ideas of, but feel like they could be done better, or at least done differently? And what webcomics-related stuff do you think othe...

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I got another review done after not writing anything for two months besides a joke article, and during that time, I just wanted to tune out webcomics altogether, which is why I haven't been on here in a while. I think the break has helped provide me with some clarity.

Re: FTP not working
Last time I updated, a few days ago, net2FTP worked, but slowly.. and it let me upload comics (which had been working fine the previous week) but triggering an update on quickadmin didn't work.. the file just disappeared from the comcis FTP folder. so I just used fireFTP and it worked. Now I can't ...

I've been able to log in yesterday and today, so it seems like the server's working. If you can't reset your password, you'll have to PM an Admin about it.

It's the Sitemeter.com meter, which is only on the main page. Its Javascript displays a pop-up image from an advertiser. onPageLoad:function() { var newIFrame = document.createElement("iframe"); newIFrame.frameBorder = 0; newIFrame.width = 0; newIFrame.height = 0; newIFrame.src = "http://mpp.vindico...

Re: I'll review your webcomic.
Thanks for responding. You have a lot of really great points. We just seem to have very different perspectives on the issue. I dunno, it'd be hard for me to find a site with less of a point of view than Bad Webcomic Wiki. i mean by definition that site is edited by various people, so any point of vi...

Re: I'll review your webcomic.
Entities and Nonentities I recently read an old article by Eric Burns-White that separates critics into three groups: negative critics, reviewers, and scholarly critics. I wrote an article a couple years ago with a similar premise that labels the three groups as audience-oriented, creator-oriented, ...
