Squeaky, I know I can always count on you to bend an ear. :P OK, I loved Star Trek as a kid (in reruns - I was only born two months before the Apollo 11 mission). It has lost some of its appeal as I have grown older (and William Shatner has lost all sense of dignity), but looking past the '60s speci...

What trail of lux? What residue or by-product does 'used' lux generate? Or is lux just simply manipulated like any other form of energy? I know that's a bit of an oversimplification, but is other than natural lux, like lightning, (they're not the same, I know), can lux be created, generated like el...

Actually, Saavik and Valeris had backstories to explain their nonstandard names: Saavik was half-Romulan (the result of a rape, if I remember correctly) and was abandoned as a child on the failed Romulan colony planet of Hellguard. She spent several years there before she was rescued by a Vulcan tea...

Using the above theory, I'm assuming that anything that uses lux would be attractive to the wights but not necessarily a "food" source. Lady M's leven bolts were a direct barrage of lux just as the luxdarts from Quentyn's crossbow and consequently FED the wights thus giving them more "power". That ...

It looks as though most lux-enhanced devices are "lux-suckers". They recharge themselves by drawing lux energy from the ambient. Quentyn's sword recharged unusually quickly, but I'm not sure it could "suck" in enough to reduce the ambient and weaken the wights. If the wights are mindless creatures,...

I think it is very likely that Quentyn will be the one to dash off and try to warn the Guard, but given the special properties of his footwear, the wights may be, quite literally in fact, nipping at his heels. :o The only other option would be to send a less noticable (if much less speedy) servant b...

Which they are busy doing right now (with old-fashioned lamps, I might add)... :) Looks like the servant has found the guard - unless anyone can think of OTHER good news he might have. They may not have arrived at the house yet because they are checking the perimeter of the disruption, but they now...

I think Ralph mentioned at one point that he made several drawings while still tinkering with the final layout of the series. They are fairly easy to identify, as there are differences in style between them and the finalized webcomic. Of course, I'm responding as if you're asking a serious question ...

Not to nitpick... But Picard lost two ships only that im aware of, The Stargazer which was his first command. Now, if you want an impressive Starfleet Captian, id say Janeway is the one that took things to the hilt.... If you REALLY want to pick nits, Picard only lost ONE ship, NCC 1701-D. He got t...

True, but for the 'bigger hammer' to work, it would have to hit ALL of them at the same time - if only one wight is missed, the residual lux from the 'bigger hammer' would allow it to reproduce exponentially - the old 'out of the frying pan, into the fire' scenario. Given that the wights have obviou...

Oggy does have fire-breath (or at least it is implied): http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20040527.html The chieftain tells his wife to try to keep Oggy from burning Sanctuary down. That's a good point - I could see the Sanctuary leaders ordering the placement of bog-dragons in the sewers to counteract the...

Intresting that things did remain, to an extent, civil. Granted, things were heated, but at least it didn't turn into the out and out warzone Red vs Blue shows us in that Public Service Announcment. As to the other thing... I'd like to suggest something here that I encourage in all other forums. Documentation. If you want to refute another person's point, it really helps to list your sources. Otherwise, it ends up being like an argument between two children: "Is Not!" and "Is So!", ad nauseum....

I highly recommend Army of Darkness for anyone who has not received their daily dose of absurdity - the gore is at a minimum, the one-liners are hilarious, and Ash fights Florentine-style (means with two offensive weapons and no shield) with a shotgun (boom-stick) and a chainsaw mounted to the stump...

Here's something else to think about: When the Guard shows up, what kind of weapons do you think they'll have? Just about any normal weapon they may carry has probably had some sort of enchantment placed on it, which means it will be chock-full of yummy lux! :o I doubt the Guard will be armed with c...
