Rocky & Bullwinkle were great. There were some really BITING stabs at politics that the kids didn't get but the parents did.

I'd have to agree, a lot of comedy has gone downhill in the last few years. Forget "The Five Words You Can't Say On TV." Give me "Who's on First?" anytime! XD I have a DVD with that, and it always makes me laugh. "So, who's on first?" "Exactly." "Exactly's on first?" "No, Who is on first!" "What're...

As Limbaugh once stated about political humor: "For something to be funny, there has to be a grain of truth to it." This is something the Air ameriKa crowd hasn't figured out yet. And, FWIW, Most talking heads are a$$holes. Which is why Air ameriKa is on terminal life support and circling the drain...

I'll argue the fact, though I don't watch Stewart much. As Limbaugh once stated about political humor: "For something to be funny, there has to be a grain of truth to it." This is something the Air ameriKa crowd hasn't figured out yet. And, FWIW, Most talking heads are a$$holes. Air America I avoid...

Fortunately nowadays we have Jon Stewart and "The Daily Show" to make up for the lack of any real political humor like there was decades ago.

And Stewart nails EVERYBODY.

[quote="Sharuuk"] "Cosby could swear, on rare occasions. But he made it funny, not just for shock. Like when he was describing cocaine, he said a guy told him "it intensified his personality." About 1958, MAD magazine did "What It Was, Was Football", drawn by George Woodbridge. It was Andy Griffith's complete routine, with a caricature of him "narrating" the story. I remember the Vaughn Meader bit, too. I still remember Castro saying "I'll have a chicken sandwhich, with a live chicken!" ...

I haven't heard the Andy Griffith album, but on the "Dr Demento" show they played his "hillbilly sees football for the first time" sketch. I just about peed in my pants I was laughing so hard. Yes, that's the first cut on the 'Just For Laughs' album and it's actually titled "What it was, was footba...

Re: I do believe in spooks. I do believe in spooks. I do! I

Err...I don't get it. Who is Dave Gardner? 'Brother' Dave Gardner was a 1950's early 1960's era stand up comic from Georgia. Had several comedy albums and could keep you in stitches with his skits and stories and never utter a word of profanity. He used the name "Brother Dave" because his delivery ...

Can I make a little suggestion as to Hortense?

How about adding another reptile to the cast?

Maybe a dragon?
(Not a bloody huge one, a medium size, like 6-7 feet tall one.)
