I'm going to disagree, Brock. The description of an ordinary breakfast seen from an outside perspective was perfect in establishing a feel for the character. This is -definitely- cool stuff, here. One quibble, 'proscribe' means to ban or forbid. You want 'prescribe' there. 'As prescribed by Commonwe...

Sounds like a good opportunity, to me. If there's one thing that could break the sugar lobby, it's cheap fuel. And once Castro finishes kicking the bucket, there's no real impediment to dealing with Cuba except them.

Y'know, I don't think that TotQ has -done- a Redemption theme yet. Mebbe she's going to be it.

She's certainly going to be a lot less keen on stealing from him now. He's scary.

Nuclear Security? I'm sorry, but fricken' armed convoys of trucks isn't enough security for you? We shipped it by (to borrow your adjective) frickin' Federal Express! They lost it! And that's not counting the 765 kg (347 lbs.) of Pu missing from Los Alamos! That's 150 nukes' worth, in case you coul...

If the Serenity has enough power to go nudging asteroids onto collision courses, the Alliance can pony up a few bigger ships to nudge it away again. We've got a primitive Spacewatch up already - I'm sure a starfaring society would have a -good- one.

With a week of OOC time, I'm sure someone's told S'aaruuk about Lauril, so that shouldn't be a problem. And note that my entry is actually out of sequence - it'll happen after S'aaruuk and Red get things sorted out, and when that's up I'll probably edit and move the second half back. Where's the res...

Big Chief Gums-his-food probably caught a dozen or so in the paunch and/or family jewels. (The really BIG Aaaaarrrrrgghhh!) He'll be madder than the proverbial wet hen, but in no condition to do anything for a week. The others probably caught one or two each, enough to hurt and slow 'em down. Zobeid...

We should also make sure to kill any lies and urban legends about nuclear power. They aren't helping anyone, and it's always a good idea to educate the population. For instance, anyone know the real number of people who died in the incident at Chernobyl? You could make a case for it -saving- four l...

Skydancer sighed with relief as the latest rinse from the Tiger Moth's sprayer tanks tested below threshhold for gasoline. About time. I thought I'd never get the things cleaned out. He grinned to himself. Could be worse, though. At least I got Fergie to pony up for the repairs. Disposal of the cont...

Still won't work. Muslims who -aren't- planning to blow up a plane will scream bloody murder about discrimination, and the ACLU will undoubtedly join in the festivities. Suicide bombers will happily eat the bacon, secure in the knowledge that they will be forgiven since the act is necessary to their...

It does. Muslim is a bully's religion - in addition to having carte blanche to beat up or lie to non-Muslims, there is no requirement to behave honorably when you're outnumbered. Where a Christian or Jewish fanatic could probably be caught by the expedient of asking him to desecrate his own religiou...

Rokas: Well, from an evolutionary standpoint, cows have a sweet deal. They get raised, fed, and have lots of calves. Then they die. Much less disease, predation, starvation, etc. than their wild ancestors. That's one way of looking at it -- the most successful adaptation there is in today's world i...

The elf is just scummy. Quentyn's trying to figure out a way for them to both get away, and she grabs his backpack and bolts, probably figuring she can outrun him. Would've worked, too, if it weren't for the boots. Grab his pack from her, and leave -her- behind. She deserves anything the humans care...

English changed unusually quickly about eight or nine centuries ago, as a result of the Norman Conquest, among other things (...

Road apples is a new term? Geez, what a bunch of city slickers.

It's what horses leave behind 'em, of course. Term's been around as long as there've been roads, I think.

So the Racconans and the elves have forgotten about each other already? Weird. I would've thought that not all the Raconans got inside the Mistwall... and it hasn't been -nearly- long enough for the tales to die out.

But she may be honest. Or maybe not. Depends how xenophobic the villagers are, too.
