Okay, I'ma gonna try and make this real short. I'd like to thank Wander for behaving with much more genitility in this post than in the last one. I'd also like to thank him for seriously considering my points in their entirety. I can't help that rethinking thier wording helped. And I'd like to remin...

Wanderer, I wish to respond to you simply. And I wish to respond to you politely, and curteously, with all gentility, knowing deep in my heart you want the same. Please, let's start over so I can try to reframe my arguments succinctly, as I realize that my tendencies toward overly-flowery language k...

Not to be insulting, but it occurs to me that demons may try to save your life if they haven't corrupted you enough.... That's it! That's what I've been trying to figure out! That's why there are no miracles, so intervention on behalf of the divine to reach through the fundemental laws of physics--...

Not quantifiably, no. God is not a law of physics. Then again, asking your dad for the car keys on a Friday night is also a request that has no quantifiable outcome. Point of order: I can actually talk face-to-face with this 'dad' figure. He will explain to me (or son, if given) the reasons for thi...

Okay, sure. About 2% of the population, at some point in their lives, breifly experiances Skitzophrenia type symptoms. Assuming each major city has one riot per year, there is a 0.2% chance of a riot occuring on any given day. A hallucination can be either bad or good, with no reason it should be o...

[scratches head] So would you chalk it up to an unknown biological function if an amputee should suddenly grow back his/hers missing limbs? No, that's what a miracle is supposed to be. But it's entirely hypothetical. And, quite frankly, a little ridiculous. Why don't I suppose the King of all Cosmo...

Forgive me for pointing it out, but the argument is a case of choosing your target. I provided several cases of known miracles. Point the first: Could you please help me find this list? I've searched the last week's posts on all three forums and couldn't find it. Why, certainly. It's right here, in...

So prayer has no effect on what god does or dosn't do, that's my point. A great quote from my own bishop, "God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is 'no'." My daughter really, really wanted to stick her finger in the socket and was quite upset when, in a firm voice, I said "NO!" (I couldn't ...

You make the classic mistake. You keep thinking that prayer is designed to get you stuff. "You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you as...

Perhaps the theory's in apparent decline simply because it means so little to their study. I expect the same thing to happen to the multiverse theory, it being interesting but scientifically impractical to dwell on for long. In high school, I considered what if the big crunch happened in such a way...

Though there are many prominent scientists who still believe that theory to be true, it's fallen more or less out of favor in recent years, and its trend in terms of popularity is on the decline.

Just sayin'.

This whole discussion on the nature of colloquial dialects in regards to the pronuciation of 'pecan' juxtoposed against 'pecan pie' made me realize that, as far as I know, I tend towards saying the former in the soft 'A' sound--the 'northern' pronounciation--yet I say the latter in the nasal sound--...

I don't think anything happened that wasn't unexpected. For me, the only unexpected thing was that the response to this wasn't just the rogues gallery agreeing with him, with Wander providing the only dissent, as seemed the case throughout the 'Man on the Border' arc of 'Nip & Tuck.'

It is the basis for morality for evolutionists, but I take issue with it. Animals don't really have any concept of right or wrong. A wolf pack is focused on survival by any cost, save injury or death. They don't kill clean unless they get the opportunity for it. They'll also take the opportunity to...

Now I am confused. I always thought that Darwinism was 'survival of the species' and all that. The weaker of the species will be eleminated to make room for the growth and development of said species until a 'bigger fish' comes along and this starts over again. And the stronger must adapt to its en...
