"Building"? Don't worry folks, there are also "real life" things going on that are likely to keep me away from the drawing table a lot over the next couple months. Fortunately they're all extremely GOOD things, like buying and moving into my first home, housecleaning my apartment in prepar...

Got it. Pugh.

I want to put up the first little warning flag that there may be a hiatus-like break during my upcoming moving day, but I plan to put up actual comics of *some kind* during this break if it happens.

My first comic was in September, 2000. Yes, that was six and a half years ago. Updating twice a week got me into the low 100's of visits per day in about two years, at which point I stopped paying attention to it in favor of the almost-but-not-quite-totally-dead forum. I checked again for the first ...

Only in that it used to be white. I started the "ASCII Busts Out" arc with him in a dark outfit to symbolically putting a "black hat" on him, but then I forgot to color it in for the first comic where we see him again, then remembered it this time, then decided to go in and quietly re-color the prev...

Dear Cal and Amanda: Welcome to UH2, nice to see the pair of you also coming into the new comic. Well, I don't actually get on-panel until next week, but thank you! On to the actual question, Cal's immediate responce upon seeing an attractive, male stranger at the door would seem to indicate that c...

Wait, did you just say you spent 20 pounds on a pencil? Whoa. Anyway, we all love to hate How to Draw Manga and all, as it is pretty mass-press stuff and may be at least partially responsible for the 20 trillion online comics which seem to have been traced directly (and often, POORLY) from old manga...

That may be stupid, but what file format is your lineart? When I scan in B&W, the file opens in photoshop as a bitmap. It's horrible. When I convert to grayscale, everything gets smooth. Have you tried different file type to see if it helps any? Notes concerning Photoshop and bitmap vs. greyscale: ...

I have a real adversarial relationship with anti-aliasing so I convert to BITMAP to kill everything that might even THINK of being a fuzzy edge. That way, I can use the fill tool with impunity. *Converting to bitmap and back will always give you back your de-anti-aliased artwork, which as far as I c...

Moiré Dziva

I'll take the deafening silence concerning this new character to mean nobody's impressed.

Apparently I'm not either as I've decided to temporarily jump to another arc entirely.

I've given a lot of thought to this one; for the most part the thread is damn near invisible, except maybe for that elevator.

More on that in tuesday's comic.

Now, now, this has been (mostly) in reasonably good humor; things have just been drifting towards fundie-bashing, which I must admit I do myself on occasion, but which I've decided has to be dropped along with other potentially devicive political discussion. Just for the good of the board, y'underst...

Aaaand still can't get stats.

I've checked two months in a row (not on the first of the month either) in addition to checking about a year ago, and all three times I've gotten: Warning: fopen(/bigdog1/space/keenspace/public_html/members/UmlautHouse/logs/index.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or director...

I used Photoshop Elements for about three years and pretty much just loved the heck out of it. When I upgraded to the bigger tablet it came with a cupon for half off the "real" Photoshop and for me at least the new masking tools (and a few key streamlinings in the brush tools) were worth the money. ...
