In an earlier post RH mentioned the right of conquest. I recognize a different right, the right of endurance, of survival. Powerful countries are expected to win, it

True enough. The most that can be said of Dhimmitude is that under some conditions it allowed the various non-Muslim religious communities within the Muslim world a measure of identity, though at other times it was little more than religious rationalized apartheid. Case in point: Iran after the Isla...

13. MYTH: The Arab - Israeli Conflict: The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won. News for you: Arab is not equivalent to Jew. Arabs...

1. MYTH: Nationhood and Jerusalem. Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam. Israel did not "become" a nation (need definitions for both) and it is important not to compare apples to oranges. Israel of today has little to do with "Israel" of 3000 years ago. ...

When I first read the strip I had the mental image of Quentyn falling through one roof only to stop and then fall through the floor and onto another roof, and then through that roof and so on and so forth until he hit the pavement. RH did say that construction in the Tumble Downs was the shoddiest i...

I'm about ready to wind down and call it a day on this thread. Your points regarding Arab culture I cannot answer. I simply don't think I know enough to make judgement calls on an entire culture. I'm not like some liberals who absolutely refuse to make any sort of judgement of someone esle's culture...

You're makikng a blanket case regarding the Jews from Arab countries. They were not all kicked out after 1948. Egyptian Jews continued to live in Egypt and according to their Cheif Rabbi at the time, not all that badly. The reason why most of them were expelled was because Israel recruited a number ...

Describing the wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973 as attempted genocide is completely wrong. In any case it was not the Palestinians who went to war with Israel in 1967 and 1973 but surrounding Arab states for their own reasons. Israel has rejected more than its fair share of equitable peace deals from va...

I don't think I can put it any more bluntly than this. Your description of history is 100% wrong. It was debunked by Israeli historians two decades ago. It is openly discussed in Israeli discourse that the Palestinians did not leave by choice. It's been ages since the "Broadcast" arguement was used....

Again you're knowledge of history is severely lacking. There were MANY high ranking Germans and German-collaborators in Europe who held onto their positions and presitege for decades. Right now there's a flap in Germany over prasie being delivered to a German diplomate responsible for crimes in Czec...

That kid can't buy a break. For that matter, I don't think he's going to be able to bail himself out of it this time. I think all those theories we discussed when he was thrown in the clink the first time may have to be revisited.

After September 11, back when I was still in high school, my journalism teacher tapped me to write an article on Bin Laden and his background. To say that I didn't care for what I found out would be the understatement of the year. Now London joins Dar-es-Salaam, Nairobi, Aden, Mombassa, New York, Wa...

Did anyone else notice that the couple's names are a bit out of the ordinary for usual Rac Conna names? Henry and Josephine? That's a bit of a change from Quentyn, Kestrel, Fen, Quinn, Nessie, Jacobin, Emmet, Colin, etc.

I just updated the article a bit, I hope no one minds. Anyone is free to correct or add anything they wish. I think I may have messed the format up a little though. I'm not sure if I put in too much or too little.
