My inspirations (that I can remember) are vast and variable. some include the movies Go, Groove, Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis, the comics Sonic The Hedgehog, Scud, Pounded, MegaTokyo and Exploitation Now. Nothing special but I recommend that EVERYONE watch those 3 movies.

Hey, why not add both. Personally I'm not a fan of the comic relief/unknown animal thing/talking pet deal (I dub it the Gonzo Factor) but some people put it off rather well.

Remember Penny arcade's DIV? Or Family Guy's Brian? Or even, well, Gonzo! All wonderful characters.

Seriosuly I think are too many goddamned 'gag' strips and it a rare occasion that they're funny. Personally, I think Cup of Suffering is a metric fuck-load more funny than Penny Arcade. Even PA are at the point where they rely on a situation that is stupid for the sake of stupididty as a punchline. ...
