The pc has made graphics design, design of household items, cars, and movie and television special effects, both easier, and cheaper. And DULLER. I'm afraid that's often very true. I have nothing to support my supposition, but I really think that the added difficulty of doing a design on a co...

Not really. He took a small clubhead with a special fitting with him on the flight, that attached to the handle of one of their tools, and took a few swings. But with the suit on, he couldn't flex much, and didn't get very much loft at all. The moon became one giant sand trap for mankind.... I spen...

I wish I could get BBCAmerica where I am. Do they show Blake's 7 by any chance? That is sci-fi rather than comedy (well, some might dispute that distinction on certain episodes) but not even the public TV stations around here seem to show it any more. The PBS station used to play "Blake's 7" once a...

You have J-track on your PC, admit it! :P

Okay, somebody who figures out the orbital differentiation of the planets for 2066 on a matter of curiosity is either to be looked at sideways or simply be admired for their talents.

I'll choose admiration. :D

Awfully not awful at all!

Richard was very early in offering me encouragement. Actually, it was the realization that I really liked Mynarski Forest, even though it was weekly, that suddenly made me realize that cartooning of that order was actually something that I could do. For that early inspiration, I owe Richard a lot. ...

(I guess I'm 36. Well, I think so anyway. Phooey. I don't wanna be 36.) Oh good, you *are* older than me. :P But, it *is* a diminishing number of people when you get to 30 year old comedy. Even "Classic" comedy. I don't even know if Monty Python is on the air anymore, even on the BBC Cable stations...

No Scott. "Bolton as a Notlob" would be a Palindrome. Now we just need to know what a Notlob is. <LOL>

So, when do we get to the alternate computer personality?

Hey, I just want to know what song to sing when Win98 goes down on me. Answer that one and you'll be a millionaire overnight. :P

Land of the Free and the Comic...

<nodding>

In case I should ever have more time to waste, there's the folder of collections, too. Inktank, Keenspot, The Belfry, Furnation's "mixedcomics", uComics, Alt. Brand Studios... etc.

Re: Amphicars, and.. other stuff

"Lindy the Shipboard Computer" is either silly or obscure if you don't know "Eddie the Shipboard Computer" from "The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" though. :( Frankly I think the joke works wether you know the reference or not, but it was still kind of obvious. Just from the attitude and what i...

I wasn't going to mention the designation "XR-71" either, but I will if you make me. :P

Re: Amphicars, and.. other stuff

Neat! :) You know, it's funny. I've heard so many fun stories about growing up in North Platte, to me, the name sounds like Shangri La or NeverNever Land or something: A mystical land of magical fun and games. Sure. I think it's something like 15,000 people. And cruising the two one-way stre...

The animated GIF of Florence is really neat! I need to figure out how to do animated gifs. Not sure what I'd do with them, but with all the instrument control panels I've been drawing lately, blinking flashing lights would be really cool! :) Gotta figure that out! :) Yes. You gotta do that. Right n...

Re: Jupiter Site

I saw a program recently that put forward the Hubble Space Telescope as one of the Wonders of the Modern World. I have to agree. <nodding> I'd vote for it. :D Hubble being unable to view objects within the solar system. I believe that there is such a restriction, but it only applies to objects too ...

Re: Could it be big C...?

[quote="LevelHead"]No. The Enterprise was completed first, and its name was the result of a very large number of people -- mostly Star Trek fans -- writing letters to have the first Shuttle named Enterprise. Endeavor, the replacement for the ill-fated Challenger, was named by a school-children campa...

Neat! I've only seen one once in the metal. :) Looked like fun! The only time I'd ever seen one before was watching an old British TV show called "The Avengers" with Diana Rigg. :) (Yum!) Boy those things look like fun! Dude! I used to watch "The Avengers" and "The New Avengers" way back when. How ...

Oho! Well, see if you can obtain the Beatles "Mean Mister Mustard/Polythene Pam". Sometimes the two songs are listed separately, but they are always one piece. Hey Scott, I *love* the older stuff, too. Thanks for putting that up. Come a very long way in quality of drawing, for sure, but we can see the heart has always been pretty much the same. (And I'd never criticise your drawing, anyway. It's certainly much better then I could do...) Actually, i ...
