Re: Has my comic improved any?

I agree with the last post. You'll never really improve doing it the way you're doing it now. If you keep drawing you'll get better over time, but piecing it together in paint... it will only get you so far

Model Contest!

As our 250th comic approaches we're doing our first ever contest. All you have to do is send in a picture of yourself and you could win the chance to have a character model based on you become a regular background character in Children at Play . Plus you get a fully colored model sheet, and a profil...

Phillip Seymore Hoffman has not been signed as penguin. He's been rumored as a frontrunner, but he hasn't been approached I wasn't big on Heath as the joker either, until I heard in an interview he plans on playing him like clockwork orange, which is one of the most awesome things I've ever heard. N...

tracing paper is how the pros do it, well AND a lightbox usually.

I've never tried it old school way, I've done my hand at flash though, spent a weekend to get a simple jerky walk animation, and that was the end of that

exercise, freeweights

my hands would just go tingly for a while drawing, or gameboy, or anything like that because all I would do would be heavy hands

started going back to the gym a few weeks ago, playing racquetball (mad fun) now the problem is just gone.

It's where Wapsi Square published his book, and it's where I plan to do mine after I re-do all my year 1 art. It's not very expensive, and theres no minimum book order.

i dont know to me doing my comic is sort of like a job, just a job i really like doing, but dont get paid for. I'd recommend setting a certain time every day to do the comic in, you can surpass that, but you can't go beneath it. like between 8 and 9 at night or something. Also, whenever I'm watching...

When I color I do it digitally in multiple layers, so it's far easier in the long run to do one piece at a time.

Then i can preform slight manipulations to one thing without having to worry about affecting another.

I used to have mine rated as MA but to me MA connotes a degree of nudity that just does not exist in my comic. Really the only thing that would be considered mature about my comic is the strong language, innuendo, and violence. Lately I've dropped the whole "rating" thing of my page and just made a ...

70% of my comics are on the drawing board for at least 6 months before they are realised artistically, and in that time there are three writers criticizing the joke and tweaking dialogue, until we get a product that flows realistically, and is as funny as it can be. the other 30% are comics where we...

critique trade

Ok, I've tried this on another forum and it worked out pretty well. Here's the deal, go critique my comic, and I'll critique yours. That simple. I dont mess around with critiques too. I'll read your entire archives (or at least try, if you have like 700 comics I might not make it) and give you all t...

FTP Access

I know this has probably been beaten to death, but I've looked through some of the archives and I can't find an answer to my problem. I can't access my FTP for either my childrenatplay site or my witchdoctor site. I tried both the old and the new siteadmins addresses, I've also tried simply directly...
