Colleg Sci Fi Club Ages

Well Grad Students can be pretty much any age. At least 1 of our members (and he's still there tutoring and stuff so he's older now) is/was 27. I'm almost 27 now, and if I was still in town I'd still go, but as it is I can only make periodic appearances. We'd let anybody come in, even townies, but t...

So sad to see them go

 I was flipping through, and even though I don't generally watch the X-Files, I did love the Lone Gunmen and recognized them right away so we stopped to watch that episode. Imagine my horror when my hopes of a return for them (they were even in the poll on who to add to the next X-Files movie) ...

Okay. . . I'm not really on the ball just now, but how about:

Time travel is 100% necessary. Literature shows us that without Time Travelers, history as we know it would never have happened (Quantum Leap, Mr. Peabody, Time Squad, Star Trek IV, Voyagers [anyone else remember that show?]).

I agree. . . Rikk's denial is compounded by the fact that if he'd known. . . Something might have come from it, but now he's caught fair and square by Alisin (in his mind at least) so it's best not to think of it, for him. Much has been made about Rikk being oblivious to Rumy's crush. I think he's i...

Funny thing is, I like Alisin, but as I looked back over the archives, it struck me - how different is she from Stu, really? I'm playing Devil's advocate a bit, but when you compare the things they've both said, and the ways they act... what makes Alisin so much better? FIrst things first: I ogt my...

I'm currently reading "the Broken Sword" (too bloody lazy to get up to remember the author's name . . . Oh, yeah Molly Cochran or something like that). I'm a sucker for yet another rehash of Arthur, especially when they add an interesting twist to it. ON BRADBURY'S STAR: ROCK ON! I have been a huge ...

On the other hand, she's the Art Show director for a fairly major con (Archon -- we just had our 25th Annual, and the last few have had about 2,000 people attending), and we're both on the Con Committee. So, is she a fan? Steve Bolhafner Archon? So you're from the MidWest? Okay Hi again, all I've h...

And exactly what the 'evil' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the one labeled in dark and unfriendly letters that said "PANIC") was designed to do, eliminate all possible alternate universes that didn't conform to what the Guide's authors wrote. Okay I missed where the 'evil' Hitchhiker's Guide cam...

Oh, no, that CAN'T be. I haven't seen ANY trailers, yet, but I sensed this film coming since my revelation in the rest rooms after the "Brady Bunch Movie" came out. Who's in it. I had my own theories, but. . . 'Jinky with it'?!?! Oh my I think I just heard every dead cartoonist in the world turn ove...

Ain't neccerily so. I've had professors that spoke of important figures that they'd studied thouroughly that way. "Plato was ever a one to point out a mistake" or some such phrase, for example (not a direct quote, lol). Now that my Alisin theory grows weaker, I'm still wide open about the general.

But that begs the question, is sleeping with Alison? (A sin, I mean) They are "married" in what sense, that they made vows and exchanged rings? He calls her "wife" to his friends but "girlfriend" to his parents. Now, I'm not condemning Rikk for this -- I did similar things and worse before I was ma...

I agree that she's trying to be proactive and help Rikk, instead of sitting home being frightened (about him and herself). Although, I've begun to think that Alisin might be as crafty as Kath herself. There always seems to be another level to her. Maybe she's insecure enough that she thinks that Meg...

Wow, I'm all messed up by today's comic. I started out like 'oh, lol, Kath's gonna mess with Stu-boy's head,' then all of a sudden BAM!!! the general and 'shanna's mother' (that is wierd that she [doesn't she look a lot like a shemale, I'm really wondering who she is] called her that). I don't know. I feel compelled to see it, whilst at the same time I am so totally repulsed by the cheesy b-movie title. At least 'The Phantom Menace' could have been some freaky type communist conspiracy movie (based on the title) and there was in fact a conspiracy and menace and all that. Okay yeah...
