There is an article in the current (February 03) Scientific American that details the manufacturing processes of synthetic diamonds, and discusses the propietary technique used by a company called Debeers. Curiously, the article makes two contradictory statements: (1) There is absolutely no differe...

Re: Ahhh...Dumb Question Time from WP

Scott? You know that I like the dress design that Jenny's wearing--old fashion design with a lot of class and a hint of contemporary design. However, I'm confused as to why there's a red triangle on the back? It's not a triangle. It's the logo of her airfield, Bali Hai Aviation. http://techfox.keen...

First, in line with this discussion, I would like to reccommend the 'Manifold' trilogy by Stephen Baxter. ('Time', 'Space', and 'Origin') Using the same characters, each book shows a universe with different answers to the 'Big' questions: "Are we alone?", "Where did the universe come from?", "How wi...

It's an interesting article about how an anti-clotting enzyme found in Vampire bat saliva shows promise as a treatment for strokes.

So perhaps a vampire bat nurse isn't such an incongruity. 8)

Re: Not gonna be popular...

I doubt this method would be popular with furries, but I think it'd work pretty well. Two words: Static Cling! Well, it would work until the charges equalized and every strand repelled every other one. Sphericality once again! :D Why are canines called canines when feline canines are greater than c...

Not that I'm complaining :) , but how do you keep a grass skirt "down" in zero gee?

And Leona needs to remember that it's not a photospread until it's in print. But still, she's just being Leona. :)

Almost anything in Freefall should involve Florence. Even if Helix-vision might interfere. 8) Florence is a truely remarkable and exciting woman. However, modelling a bra is probably not one of her strongest points. True, and it's mostly a matter of attitude. Well, I have to admit, it's much ...

The enemy's goal is nothing less than our deaths. Naw, they'll be happy with our conversion or submission to Islam, instead. That wouldn't work either, because THEY would soon be upset that the US wasn't giving them the money/technology/weapons/medicines/food/etc. that they need to finish transform...

As to adding the tags, I'm not quite setup for that. Right now I'm simply linking to the .jpg images directly. To have the alt tags, I need to create a page for each comic (or use .cgi or similar to generate the page on the fly). I've got that on my plate to do though, it will be part of an automat...
