Shoutbox Recommendation?

When I toyed around with my layout, I decided to put a shoutbox on my frontpage, since I had seen one with several other comics and decided that I liked the effect. I went with the shoutbox offered by MyShoutBox.Com . Unfortunately, none of the shoutboxes from this site seem to have worked for at le...

My favourite's GURPS! It's a bit more complicated, but it has no classes and allows you to make the most interesting characters (i used GURPS rules to make character concepts for my comics too). I love GURPS! I have playtested and even written for some of the books (GURPS Monsters and Transhuman Sp...

Tired of DnD? I have the answer! The best RPG you never heard of is Talislanta , and it is the cure for DnD. Talislanta is indeed a very cool world, but playing D&D is not something you need to be "cured" from. I mean, I have played all sorts of RPGs over time, but I like to play D&D from time to t...

I have played RPGs for more than 15 years now. I've started with Shadowrun, 1st edition. My first character was a computer hacker at a time when none of us understood the relevant part of the rules. Starting with the third session, the character ran around with a light machine gun mounted on a gyros...

Do you have problems with drawing them, or with the general concept? drawing Well, I haven't done this myself, but an art book I have recommends using reference pictures of real world animals (if you find any good reference galleries, don't hesitate to put them into my other thread !). So you can u...

When is the best time to toy with your layout?

When I experimented with my page layout yesterday morning (About 7:00 GMT+1), only two or three updates were in the ComicGenesis Queue. When I tried to update twenty minutes ago, 680 updates (!) were in the queue. Obviously, if you want to figure out the best layout for your comic and need to try lo...

Comments and Stlye Sheets

I have been adding comments to my comic as described in this tutorial . This has worked, but now I am trying to create a half-way decent layout for my comic using a style sheet (a css file), and I am not sure how these comments and style sheets interact. Is it even possible to distinguish the style ...

Buy it. I've had the cheaper Wacom tablet for two weeks, and I have been enthusiastically drawing with it ever since. It is a lot faster and more convenient than conventional drawing, at least in my experience. And coloring something with it is a joy rather than a chore.

Reference photo galleries

I only recently started drawing again after a long hiatus, and I find myself using references a lot to get the details of my art right - building shapes, perspective, anatomy, and so on. Reference photos are an immeasurable help for a newbie like me, since they make me aware of details and subtletie...

Sounds like that day is a real event in the USA. Here in Germany, it says "Valentinstag" on some calendars, but that's about it.

I've never even heard anyone mention the day...

Our RPG group has been in existence for more than 10 years now, in various guises. It helps that we live in the vincity of an university town (20,000 students in a city of 100,000 people). And while most of us are nearing graduation, it is unlikely that all of us will move away, so the group ...

Personally, a cup of black tea in the morning is the most I get in the way of caffeine. Maybe that doesn't make me a fast and efficient worker, but I do enjoy having a good night's sleep, vivid dreams, and not having to awaken to the sound of an alarm clock... ;-)
