I say go for it. (except that it sounds like you have very little time for exploring a new strip...) A school shrink would have a lot of clever things to say about human behavior, and outrageous humor often comes from schoolage kids. That's why I got on to post today. Wanted to say I like the 'Jane ...

Lots of nasty deadlines are a sure way to keep you at the drawing board. A manic sense of responsibility will do it, too. In that light, the Stock Market crush is a good thing- we can all try to re-earn the money we threw away to the corporate evil-doers. As for input and diversion. I use chat-forums.

I dunno. Post it and let's see. If it seems offensive once you've had an objective look, don't include it when you send packages to the syndicates.

I'd definitely go with the 'Hello Kitty' stationary. The 'Hello Kitty' boxerbriefs went over so well in Ohio last year. As far as character sheets go (and remember that all my opinions should start with the phrase 'How the hell should I know?') Do whatever communicates the character and your familar...

Creators would be Rick Newcomb. Glenda Winders at Copley. Amy Lago at United Lee Salem at Universal Jay Kennedy at King Suzanne Whelton at WashPost Fred Schecker at Tribune. Don't worry about making a 9X12 envelope stand out- nobody's gonna make you an offer because you got nice taste in stationary....

Well, Scott's there. I was left upon the cuttin' room floor. I was afraid that would happen. Oh, well. At least we can generate some kind of interest in the strip if enough people see the interview. It's on again late Saturday. Check it out.

After many false rumors and guesses about the Buckets' creator appearance on the Battlebots television show, I have another rumored guess. Tonight, Tuesday 12th of February, it may be that we'll turn up. According to Scott Stantis, who got word from the folks at the show, at least that's what I've b...

Excellent! I see that today's cartoon was one that the readership had some input on. (nasty preposition at the end of that one- ah, well)
I like the final version quite a bit! Scott, is this yours, after careful consideration, or was it suggested- I don't recall the thread very well, so maybe som...

Oh, for heaven's sake. Draw the thing and show it to somebody. If they chuckle, put it on the website. If they look at you funny, then put the cartoon on the bulliten board in your studio until you glance at it one day and the solution comes to you in a glorious flash.
I think you ought to just do...

Yo, yupyop.
First, a clarification. I don't have a contract with the syndicate- I've got an agreement with Scott Stantis, who then had to change his syndicate contract slightly.
So I can make an educated guess at your answer, but take it with a grain of salt and the understanding that the only ...

I don't think I have a good definition of 'edgy'- Without ever having had to spell it out in so many words, I've always thought of any feature that had something new and surprising to it as 'edgy'- as in 'on the edge' I suppose.
As for online comics being 'edgier' than mainstream... somebody tell ...

I'm not technically a syndicated cartoonist, but Scott tells me that there have been some letters asking "How could you do that to a dog... what kind of person are you" and the like. He says he used to try to explain to people that there is no dog, only a cartoon picture of a dog and so on, but now ...
