aimed at the people who said "I got to the rape scene and I was so disgusted I couldn't go any further," or words to that effect.
I must admit, the first time I read 'Lord Foul's Bane' I gave up at this point. I came back to it a few years later, and read the entire series, which I t...

You know, T stated that one of the main characters would die, but he never claimed that they would stay dead. With time machines and alternate universes abounding just now, it wouldn't be too hard for someone to die, and then for reality to be altered in some way to stop it having happened. Plus, I ...

Stephen Donaldson's 'Thomas Covenant' is probably the best example of an anti-hero I've ever found. Good series, too.

Ah, this is why I love the Fans! board; interesting and sensible discussions with good points on both sides. Still noting to make me change my mind though; I think Rikk calling for a vote at that time was wrong, and that many of the old members sided with him out of loyalty (I'm surprised at Shanna,...

I'm going to have to go with stays. I think he needs this, that no-one can stick around and watch Alisin, Kath, Rumy and all the rest of the girls in action without seriously reconsidering their opinions. He could take a few tips from Rikk, too. Anyway, I still think he's actinng out just like one o...

The reaction I'm interested in is Will's. Here's why: Will's father was cleary a Man's Man; believing in the superiority of males, the fact that might is right, and so on. In short, much like Stu (though probably more tactful). So I want to know how Will will react; he could see Stu as the embodimen...

I don't think that Stu is doing this knowingly to push buttons, just that he honestly believes that most people think in this way. The General should provide an excellent demonstration of why he should respect both sexes. Alternatively, Rumy could kick his ass pretty easily, despite being female and...

While the group is powerful in a number of places, at least people are doing something about it. Scientologists are banned from holding public office in Germany (and, I think, Japan), after it was revealed that the organisation was pooling its resources to find information to blackmail public figure...

To be honest, Shanna's Mum never seemed all that stable even before she was committed.

Factor that in with Will's hatred of foreign thoughts in his head, and any transfusion may well have some *interesting* effects.

With my standard luck, I'm a big fan of both Gaming Guardians AND the Shadowrun Supplement, and I can only vote for one.

Still, if I could only read one, it would have to be Guardians, so I'll be voting that way.

My comment was based on the only two reviews I'd seen of it (in the papers), which both quite liked it. On the other hand, Rotten Tomato (which collates hundreds of reviews to give an overall % of good reviews) only gave it good, so you're probably right. Still, just found out Blade 2 is coming out ...

Wait, are people actually saying that the Clarke girl could be the General based upon a first name similarity???
To be honest, that's more information than we normally have, and it hasn't stopped us yet:-)

Reviews say that Showtime is actually quite good, if totally unoriginal.

Look forward to Shaolin Soccer; it's being released in America in a month or so (under the name Kung-Fu soccer, I think). It's both original AND extremely amusing.

by the way, anyone ever wonder HOW Fanboy knew about Ymir, the "Ancient God Good point. Never really thought about it, but Shanna still writes a lot of this stuff up, and Tim (the first) probably posts the rest on his BBs. Still, TimII has shown an awful lot of insight since he joined, too. Mskes y...

GUTRC first shows up here . She's next seen at the party: Leftmost person on the sofa Bottom panel Top two panels Can't find anything on her after this, though. If she has become the General, she's certainly pointier. How about she's an alternate-future General; if Rikk hadn't been distracted, and h...

One page? Just one? Ouch. tricky. So, something that shows there'a an ongoing plot, that shows most of the cast, is funny/moving and yet which can be appreciated on its own. Oh, and it has to be formatted to fit on one page (so none of the funky layouts we see occaionally). Anyway, here are a bunch ...

I agree, the whole theory does seem somewhat unlikely. But it does have enough points to make you ponder it, at least for a while. As far as the redemption of Vader goes, that was probably my favorite bit of RotJ (well, except for the whole Sarlacc fight), and I do indeed believe that a person can b...

Yes, it may just feed on brainwaves in some way. It may not realise that it is in fact having this sort of effect, and so merely goes to the highest concentration of 'food' available. This brings up all sorts of 'How do we get rid of it without hurting it?' questions.

That assumes that you have to pay for the abortion; in many countries they are provided free; cost should not be a factor in determining whether a child should be born or not. I believe that the emotional trauma suffered is much more of a deterrant than the money required. <font size=-1>[ This Messa...
