Neither could The Flintstones. They're just The Honeymooners in the caveman days.

I'm with Cope on this one.

Re: Rising Sun: charity anthology for Japan

IndyPlanet got back to me! They say I would basically have to accept the profits like normal, and then just donate it all myself. So it's an extra step, but I guess it wouldn't be much hassle if I keep track of weekly or monthly sales and donate the exact amount like clockwork. That's assuming the a...

Re: Audience vs the Story?

We had a competition last year at Yoyogames.com where people threw an indie game together using the theme of "discovery" however they liked. One guy made a brilliant and beautiful stealth game where you played a mouse creeping around, dodging booby traps and killing gun-toting rats with a combat kni...

Re: Are my characters any kind of believable now?

1. Any particular characters jump out at you? Only Ian, and only because he always seems to be browbeating people over something. 2. Did the characters make you want to continue reading the story? Not especially. Nothing about the characters or their situations makes me care about them: they still s...

Re: Constructive feedback for "Inexplicable Adv. of Bob!"

The art is cute, character designs mostly consistent. I also got a couple laughs out of the goings-on and the visuals (giant dragon lying across a mountain in depression, underlings laughing at their masters and whatnot). Overall it's better than I expected, and probably an above-average webcomic. P...

Re: need tips and critique on my comic

It's definitely better, but it would still benefit from being redone from scratch and without a copy-paste job. Making the joke more concise would help you a lot. The last part with the intern isn't really necessary: you could end it nicely with the "sucker" bit. You can definitely leave out the bit...

Re: need tips and critique on my comic

The Myst comic suffers from "wall o' text". You need WAY more panels to accommodate all those balloons, otherwise you may as well just write a script and post that. You can fix it by drawing a panel for every pair of word balloons, which means you'd have to redo it from scratch, but it'll be better ...

Re: Deadhead Zero: The Liveliest Comic On The Web!

I'm having computer issues of the terminal variety, and won't get my new machine til mid-December. So updates won't be as easy as they used to be, and therefore will be more sporadic than usual (cough cough). I know it's been a while since my last update, but the comic isn't dead or on hiatus. I'm s...

Re: Need Critique and Opinions

I'm already writing about zombies in my main comic though >.< No reason not to specialize. In fact, it's encouraged in most mediums. Years ago I jumped around and tried several different types of comics/stories at once and almost never finished a damn thing. Then I read somewhere that it's good for...

Re: need tips and critique on my comic

There's nothing inherently wrong with doing speech balloons and lettering by hand. How do you think professional comic book artists and cartoonists usually do it? And there's a variety of ways to make it look good, but I think the two most important things are to make the letters legible and to make...

Re: Need Critique and Opinions

Oh man, horror comics are calling your name. You should experiment with it using this style. The last panel is a little tough to make out though. I'm sure if you work with it more you'll refine the style enough to make it clearer without losing the gritty, nightmarish quality. I bet turning some of ...

Depends on the project. When writing horror I usually have creepy ambiance playing in the background like Silent Hill, Alone in the Dark, Quake, Doom 64, etc....
