Re: If your comic wasn't in comic form
Animation is a technique NOT a medium. Cartoon is a style not a medium. Animation is no more a technique than the digital information on a VHS tape. Animation is a medium through which a story is conveyed. Animation can be conveyed through a SECONDARY medium i.e. DVD, VHS, Flip Book. But it's a med...

Re: If your comic wasn't in comic form
Normally I consolidate my posts, but for some reason the web is really messing up causing a few of my posts to jump around and making it difficult to type or copy/paste. And just try telling that whole comic vs cartoon argument to Marvel Comics and DC comics. Not to mention Image comics, Darkhorse C...

Re: If your comic wasn't in comic form
As far as I'm concerned, that's the only logical use for an OED. The editors are idiots and are routinely forced to make retractions.Bustertheclown wrote:Watch it. I carry the Oxford English Dictionary with me at all times. It's in DVD form, but I sharpen the disks up to be used as throwing stars.

Re: If your comic wasn't in comic form
As for the topic at hand, I would make my comics in novel form. It allows the reader to use their imagination. It's gotten so bad, some idiots try to pronounce Llama as "Yama" because they're so stupid they think it's a spanish word (like that moron archaeology department head of Yale. YES a profes...

Re: If your comic wasn't in comic form
I would like to point out that prescriptive linguistics are lame. That is, you don't tell people how to use words. You observe how they actually do use them. In modern English 'comic' is commonly used to describe sequential art that tells a story or a gag or whatever, Not in my dictionaries. Even M...

If your comic wasn't in comic form
I just want to point this out because people keep using the word incorrectly: Comic means something that contains "light content" - as in elevated feelings. Cartoon is the proper term of artistic drawings. Animation is the proper term used for things such as Bugs Bunny or Nightmare Before Christmas....

Re: What is your production time?
I'm curious what people's production time is? I'll define this as: Actual time drawing, letting, and posting their comic. I'd like to leave the actual conceptualizing/writing time out of the equation for now. I'd also like to know how often you post your comic (daily, weekly, monthly...)? Should be...

I also suggest that everyone owns one of these: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=pock...

Re: How long did you wait to "pimp" your comic?
The walls! They leak newbies! I don't see what the deal is with the 20 update limit. After all, as long as one is consistent (I have been roasted for flitting between full-page and three panal updates!) then there's no problem, surely? Here's an example of why: Because for people such as myself I'l...

Re: Artist/Writer Classified Ads
This is perhaps the only place I HAVEN'T advertised the need for an artist. It boils down to this: I want to serialize Andrew Colon Space Custodian in comic form, and I need a reliable publishable quality artist who's willing to work primarily on commission and full personal store sales + small init...

Re: How long did you wait to "pimp" your comic?
edit: Because if a poorly drawn comic is a waste of bandwidth, what the hell is a book on a comic hosting site? A borderline situation that's technically not even supposed to be there. BUT it's not really your call to call someone out on that, while being borderline insulting. Cool your jets. Despi...

Re: How long did you wait to "pimp" your comic?
I don't know about you but it's hard for me to get interested in a comic that only has three pages up. So don't get interested, I really don't care. Some people are interested because my comic is 1/100th of the panada universe. There are a lot of dedicated people who cannot do more than once or twi...

Re: How long did you wait to "pimp" your comic?
Just to add, I think the arbitrary limit some forums impose is just that arbitrary. If someone invests 5 hours per page compared to someone elses 1 hour per page, why should someone wait 5 times as long to ask for feedback. As well the sooner feedback is provided the sooner the creator can implemen...

Re: Comics for the Sight Impaired
It's kinda like when people see the St. Stephen's Tower and call it Big Ben. It's wrong. I don't care how many people point to the tower and say "That's Big Ben" it's still gonna be wrong. Big Ben is the giant bell. It's not even the clockwork mechanism! People even manage to get that one wrong. an...

Re: The Library - Free e-Content & PandaKing WebManga
I don't actually see any pitching going on here. I see a couple of links and then a whole bunch of artist hiring stuff, which has its own place. A little guide to what a pitch is, may it serve you well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch_(filmmaking) You seem to have difficulty reading posts, Robby....

Re: A Poll for Readers!
Ok so instead of directing me on where or whom I can contact, it's condoned to just not reply and leave the person guessing. StRedWolf did eventually fix the problems after a few weeks, but it still would've been nice to have had a reply telling me the problems had been fixed instead of leav...
