Re: Drawing, writing, and time management.
You know... I find it difficult to split up the whole process. A number of different things happen when I do. 1) I think of new "jokes" or punchlines that may slightly alter the original direction or pace 2) I forget what the hell I was doing with whatever I was trying to do 3) The jokes get stale(r...

Re: Critique please?
Yea, I appreciate the line work much more now than in the beginning. It really helps to distinguish the characters from the background. However, one thing that might work for you is make the lines WITHIN objects thinner. So for example, a tree. Maybe you could use thinner lines in the details, like ...

Re: Critique please?
Hey buddy, long time no see! Last time I popped in here, I talked about the lack of gutters, but now it seems like you've gone a bit too far the other way. I'd estimate your gutters to be 20-25px wide, which kind of disrupts the flow of the comic. So you want SOME gutter, but not as much as you've h...

Re: Quicker website
Thanks for the replies guys. Yea, I use photoshop, and I've played around with the "save for web" settings. That's really the only way to save your comics... for the web. LoL. So my options are pretty much png, gif, jpg. I'm pretty particular about the quality of the image, and gif-256 just wasn't c...

Quicker website
Hey guys, I've been wondering if there was a way to speed up the load times on my comic . I used firefox's add-on, firebug, to find out the bottleneck for my site. It looks to me like it's my comic that's taking forever to load. Each strip ranges from 150kb to 200kb, but it takes about 20seconds to ...

Re: Cleaning up my main page
I'd actually suggest some sort of border, or shape, to make it LOOK like a button. Like VCC said above, you might as well just be using text, the way you have it now...

Re: Whispering Balloon in Photoshop? (SOLVED)
Heyhey, I'm not sure if this is how you did it, but it works for me! I went ahead and made a dashed line brush. A 4x10 brick of black. I defined it, then I went into brush settings, set spacing to 500% and control angle by "direction." When I want to make a whisper bubble, I use the ellipse tool (pe...

Re: guide.comicgenesis.com
Yea. I was really just thinking about getting the newsboxes and pogs point at my new domain, but maybe if I point the ENTIRE CG site, it might work... So when you visit http://twfc.comicgenesis.com it will automatically redirect you to http://www.twfccomic.com. Is that allowed? It's kind of the reve...

guide.comicgenesis.com
Hey folks, guide.comicgenesis.com has always been one of the top referrers to my site. Now that I've made my own site though, it'd be awesome if I could point my hits over there. I never really even knew where those referrals really came from? I just kind of assume they're from my newsbox? I still p...

Absolutely love the artwork. The story is pretty intriguing, too. Do you have a link? I wouldn't mind reading more ^^

Re: Good/cheap domain+hosting
Thanks Wendy! I looked up godaddy.com for some reviews and such, and I actually noticed FatCow.com on the top 10 of 3 or 4 different lists. I checked it out, and they give you a free domain + unlimited everything for just $44 a year! I also called up their support and was surprised to get a human in...

Good/cheap domain+hosting
Hey guys, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this. I don't particularly dare to wander into GD, anymore, and it didn't really seem to fit in the Help section, because it's not CG specific. As you've probably already gathered from the title, I'm fiddling with the idea of moving on to freer pastures....

Re: When you improve but feel like you regress
Actually, this is EXACTLY how I feel. All the time. As I keep drawing, I feel like I should be experimenting with more artistic stuff. POV, angles, ambient effects, panel shapes and sizes, etc. The problem is, when I try, it always seems to turn up really crappy. And it actually discourages me a bit...

Haha, I was wondering why "visitor ticker" sounded so funny. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that he's looking for the hit counter, but I'll let him/her speak for his/herself.

You'd have to just google visitor tickers. They'll probably give you the necessary code to plug into your html.

Re: Have a question about comicgenesis domain names...
I always thought that they had to buy the domain and then forward it. If that's not the case, and we CAN do it otherwise, I'd like to know as well!

Re: Totally confused about News Boxes
Hey, as far as I can tell, nothing is really wrong. I went to your site, and it looks like the first (maybe?) post is under the comic. Granted, it's not very aesthetically pleasing, but it's there. Could you be more specific with what you need help with? We'd all be able to assist better that way. T...
