Steam and War in the Stars (Starwars)

Being a Steampunk Nutter and noting Alina's latest newspost... Here's some of the stuff I've found in my wanderings. The guy who I think came up with the idea in the first place, really good art. http://ericpoulton.blogspot.com/search/label/steampunk%20star%20wars More awesome artwork regarding Star...

Re: Today's comic

When it comes to "generic adventuring gear" my group uses the classic PC Adventure game approach and pretends you have your own private pocket dimension.

One of these days I'll have to actually make a character who has an enormous buff coat in which he can store a St. Bernard...

Re: Strangest RPG's you've ever seen...

That's a neat one. Here's another I just spotted Spirit of the Season (an add on to Spirit of the Century) Where you play Holiday Themed Pulp Heroes (such as the daring Secret Santa and his Reindeer Men) and take them against Holiday Villians (for example, the sinister and greedy Doctor Scrooge) in ...

Re: Speaking of Cons....

I've been attending Con-Version in Calgary for the past 4 years, and The Calgary Comic Expo for the past 3.

I'd attend more but Calgary is a pretty crummy city for Conventions, Otafest is a bit depressing and caters to mostly the 16 and under crowd.

Re: Most unusual character played in a RPG

I usually GM more than I play, so I have seen more strange characters than I have played so I only have a roster of 5 or 6 characters I've played over my gaming career. Probably the most unusual was The Black Fox, a half orc monk who fancied himself a Super Hero. All his magical items were geared to...

Strangest RPG's you've ever seen...

Inspired by my sudden discovery of The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Manchausen: A Game of Telling Tales and Playing Roles, the rules of which involve wagers, wine and one-ups-manship, no really, drinking, gambling and boasting appear to be core parts of gameplay and the entire thing is written ...

Re: Sketchbook Sundays!

Holy Cow, I am very jealous of your awesome looking Rifts game... my players were always very boring (human Glitterboy, human Crazy (best character ever), human Shifter (later Elven Mind Melter), though I suppose the Giant Lizard Cyberknight wasn't so bad...). Though the last time I played was when ...

Re: RPG's and Politics: This may amuse, or annoy...

I know many from both sides of the fence that roleplay, it's a pretty politically neutral hobby as far as I can tell, hence I wonder why McCain is so... hostile. Ah well, I'm a happy little Canadian Moderate with Liberal sympathies so I can just ignore him. Still find it an interesting article though.

RPG's and Politics: This may amuse, or annoy...

http://www.gamepolitics.com/2008/08/19/mccain-campaign-slams-quotpro-obama-dungeons-amp-dragons-crowdquot Sort of an interesting article about Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain and his opinions of Roleplayers. And all the folks around here being such staunch Roleplayers, I thought this ...

Also Explosions. Hollow Earth Expedition: Nazi's, Dinosaurs, Atlantians, Giant Drilling Machines and Horrendously b...
