Re: Coping Mechanisms
Thanks for the advice, guys. Decided that for now, MS will have to go on the blocks. I simply don't have the right mindset to properly illustrate my sequences, or the motivation to see them through. Although I gotta say, "Wall-E" is a damn good pick-me-up. (But c'mon, a Pixar movie about robots? How...

Re: Zero Punctuation reviews webcomics
I have yet to not laugh at Zero Punctuation, but the frame at 2:56 (blue-screen text) had me in stitches for a good five minutes... I'm glad I require a minimum of oxygen to exist, or I'd probably have passed out laughing.

Coping Mechanisms
Tuesday night, my family had to put our beloved border-collie/black lab Pepper to sleep... she'd been with us since I was 11 years old. The kind of pet every family (who has pets) wishes they had - smart, adorable, exceptionally well-behaved, and just about any other good quality you can name. She w...

Re: Crit Request: Site Design
Thanks. :) I've been thinking of a title block for a while now, but haven't managed to create one I actually liked. I've heard about some issues with the "Notes" section - changing font color is easy, but realigning the text will be a trick, since it appears fine on my screen. (I also keep forgettin...

Re: Crit Request: Site Design
Both helpful and appreciated. Thank you both for the feedback. :) I actually [hadn't] planned on skinning the support pages, but it's definitely something I'll look into. I need to make a correction to my dailytemplate as well, since the original code has the archive pointing into the "/d/" director...

Crit Request: Site Design
I've reworked the site layout/design for http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f321/Kieve/ms_ban_sm.jpg a bit, and I was hoping to have some feedback on it. Comments, critique, suggestions, and any constructive thoughts are welcome. The same goes for the comic, as I haven't gotten [any] useful feedback ...

Re: MechaSentient - Machines are people too...
At 24 (soon to be 25) comics, I'm not winning awards for longevity just yet. But the "Prologue" story arc concludes this Friday, and it's going out with a (very literal) bang, so do have a look.

Re: (x, why?) closing in on 100!
Wow... Well, I agree with RedTech about the art - could definitely benefit from some cleaning up. In this case, I might suggest either freeware photoshop like GIMP, or getting yourself some vector art. My main issue with your current stuff is the pixelation, and photoshop line tools or similar flash...

Re: Webcomic Hate
I reiterate - stop thinking like a community and start thinking like a company. NO. I can't even begin to tell you how bad that is, but I'm going to try anyhow. Case Example: Writing.Com (formerly, Stories.Com) Started out as a "community" early on - I signed up just about the time they hit their y...

Re: Presenting "SOUTH POLE STRIP" new DAILY webcomic !
Awesome.
My only suggestion might be to vary your punchlines a little - three or four strips in a row of "eat the penguin" jokes kills the humor just a little. Running gag is great, having it run a week-long marathon... not so much.

Re: The Atomik Age plot and art review... (now with truthiness!
*(psst, fix your first post - the "dot-com" on your link fell off!) I remember stumbling across this early on, but I went back and read from the beginning when you posted here. Fairly good, I must say. The artwork is clear and straightforward - 90% of the time, I have no trouble seeing what's going ...

Re: Does anyone actually read "History" Pages?
I typically glance over them to see if there's any useful tidbits to pluck out - if I encounter something [in] the storyline that seems odd or off-beat or needs explaining, I'll go back and double-check. My only advice when writing a history section is to make it easy to read. As previously mentione...

Re: MechaSentient - Machines are people too...
*Updated the "teaser" image* A quick glance between the first and current strips will tell you how much the artwork improves in just a few pages. Since MS is about the story as much (more than) the humor, it's best to start at the beginning. At the eighth strip, I started doing them in color, so ple...

It's a bit late, but I hope it catches up with you in the past.
Happy Birthday!
*Oh, and have a safety net ready. Hypersonic cake can be somewhat dangerous.

Anyone else remember/miss "The Life of Riley", of clanbob.net? I used to have the first 200 or so comics saved (never did get the chance to download the whole archive)... seems time has misplaced or deleted them on me. But there's one that will always stick with me... "In a moment of perverse genius...

I'm sorry, I have to agree with Van, if for completely unrelated reasons. This one bombs, horribly. -If you're creating these sprites yourself, by hand, minor kudos. But if so, keep in mind that when you "zoom in" on a particular scene, that scene should be recognizeable. Not just a jumble of colore...

Anything, delivered in the right way, at the right time, for the right audience, can be funny. I dunno. A box of frozen squid delivered in a freezer van, on schedule, to a sushi bar... delivered right way, right time, right people, sounds more "tasty" than "funny"... ...Okay, I'm lying. I prefer ee...

Re: Beyond Good-N-Evil! Don't miss out or mom's gunna be mad!!
It's late, so I didn't get through it all, but here are some thoughts. -Text style matches the art style, but ye gods, I wish it was easier to read. Granted, I know how rough it can be sometimes to find the correct font (I'm still in search of some decent well-spaced block lettering for my own main ...

Alright, Endicott, THINK. Security's after you. Your ship's locked down. At least one armed guard at the gantry. ...And you're talking to yourself. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f321/Kieve/MechaSentient/21-sample.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f321/Kieve/MechaSentient/th_meksen_banner_me...
