Re: Hallucinations of an unstable mind

Thanks for the feedback Parables, Booze,
I know it's kinda vague. It's definitely something that's going to need tinkering with. I wanted to start subtle so it won't be jarring if I adopt some sort of stylistic convention later.

Re: Hallucinations of an unstable mind

Okay, my April 19th update involves one of my character's hallucinations. I'm not particularly satisfied with it. I'd really appreciate any comments about whether it makes sense, and whether it's possible to figure out what's there and what isn't, who's seeing what, etc.

Re: Switched to Color - Need Solid Critique

I like your color pallet pretty well, personally. It seems vivid without being garish. Occasionally some single object or... substance will stand out and look out of place, but I notice this less in your more recent panels. One random aside, the shade of your beer inside the bottles is somehow subtl...

Re: Hallucinations of an unstable mind

Thanks everyone (especially Parables, not TMI at all). The description of the progressive aspect gave me the idea of perhaps starting my depiction of the hallucinations more subtly and getting more complicated as I go, which could reflect my character's experience as well as give me a chance to figu...

Re: Hallucinations of an unstable mind

I would say to only have the hallucinations happen when the comic is from San's point of view. ... If it is just glaringly obvious all the time you and the readers can too easily stereotype that character and just make him the crazy one which depletes him of the depth he could have if constructed w...

Hallucinations of an unstable mind

Hi all, looking for some advice. Hope this isn't too confusing. I've got a character (San) in my comic who will regularly be hallucinating. He'll be mistaking one person for a different person, people for animals, and vice versa, seeing faces in trees, etc. I'd like some way to show the reader what ...

Re: ZOMG! April 1st!

My April Fool's joke only makes "sense" with the context in the About section and, let's be honest, no one reads that. I like to think it's nicely surreal without the context.

Re: Why are we doing this?

It's true that creators look at comics differently, but I don't agree that their experience is less enjoyable. We know mechanisms, we are able to not only read the story but to know how the story is told, and if the story works, we are able to see why it works. I think that our experience of readin...

Re: Why are we doing this?

Blackhole, I don't think you have to give up on your comic just because you don't want to/can't devote your whole life to making it. Antithetical as it may seem, I sort of think that webcomic authors aren't really the best audience to cater to. If one is involved in creating a comic I think one star...

Well, Phil-Evilflea, your woof dog is very intimidating. See? I can't take my eyes off it.

Why are we doing this?

Hi everyone, new here. I have a question for all of you (old-timers, new-timers, and medium-timers alike): Why ? So, I've been working on my comic's layout, etc. and I'm not yet through the stash of panels I made before signing up, but I'm getting the feeling that I've only begun to grasp the fact t...

Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old

Hey all, Signed up the beginning of this month and been trying to get my site organized. Hopefully I'll get a lot done over this spring break. This new little hobby of mine is turning out to be quite overwhelming. I really couldn't be any less experienced in comic writing, especially comic art, webs...

Re: Wiki doesn't like me

Yeah, I'm also getting:

"Login error: Incorrect password entered. Please try again."

I can sign in to the forums (obviously), but, FYI, I just created this account last night so it may be the case that my problem also has to do with me not knowing what I'm doing. XD
