Re: Today's comic

I could certainly see Mark being one of the "rehabilitation" attempts mentioned in the discussion between Hunter Prime and the Mark-lookalike.

Re: Character Arena

"It is curious, isn't it?" says a elvish man, walking in a few steps behind Anuii and past to her right. Stopping, he glances at her with a crooked smile and spreads his hand across the area, "Not quite the temples that I am used to either, but our hosts seem to dislike obvious displays of our numer...

Re: As you may have been able to tell...

The CCG and RPG are linked, which has generated a curious storyline. The concept is really cool, in that the winner of their tournaments plays a pack that is associated with a clan, and that victory controls part of the RPG storyline... however, in actuality it's led to absurd story contorting throu...

Re: As you may have been able to tell...

Honour plays a very big part in the game. Loss of honour can be said to be worse than death. You didn't exactly start with a light book, though, and that is one of the extremes that can be brought about by the clash of ideas, honour and friendship. While there are duels in this game, there will be i...

Re: Most unusual character played in a RPG

Ran a vampire game where one of the characters starting treating his stomach like a well-hidden satchel. Cut himself open, shove a few handgrenades and other things in, heal up the skin... I couldn't decide whether his body would eject the items or not and allowed it for lack of a good argument. Ver...

Re: As you may have been able to tell...

The game was discussed a while back, announced in the forums and discussed in private. Perhaps there was the mistake, though I didn't want to spam overly. You're quite welcome to join, though I can't promise you it'll be flowers and puppies and stuff I certainly don't go in for the break-'em down st...

Re: RP roundup : Samurai arrive in Namarusen

The two players may introduce themselves and others can have conversations with them as 'bit' characters, people around whom the story doesn't revolve as yet. If they wish to remain secret so far, I leave it to them.

RP roundup : Samurai arrive in Namarusen

A week late, the round up of messages beginning the roleplay that I'm running inside the weregeek forums : A festival is held in the Crane city of Namarusen every 3 years, where mock battles are held and much honour bestowed. The white-walled city, with it's black-tiled rooves, is famous for it's be...

Re: Gary Gygax is dead.

Every storyteller who runs a game of roleplay to the enjoyment of their players is a fitting tribute to him. Even when people no longer remember his name there will be people telling stories of fiction and make-believe created within the structures he first laid. That is, as they say, Quite Something.

Just a note, when I say more social... It does not necessarily mean more courtier intrigues. I mean more character development, the characters evolving through their actions and the consequences. It's not D&D where the story is a loose structure to explain why you're going out and killing things. Yo...

Books!

The core rulebook would be most helpful to have. Beyond that, the rest of the books feature extra schools and expansions on existing ideas alongside a great deal of source material. The source material may help inspire several ideas but a lot of the recent stuff mixes brilliance with an often muddle...

Good point.

Starting characters.

Also, there's a trait called 'Great Destiny', or some such. It allows that death be transmuted to out. All the characters start with it for free, as a form of damage mitigation for the occasional stupendous roll of doom.

I've never been asked what my world-change has had on the badger clan, to be honest. Let me read up on them, and I'll get back to you. The Mantis have officially been a great clan for some time. They acted during the time between the end of the last dynasty and the rise of the new. One of the first ...

Game layout and setting

Okay, everyone. The system we're using is the latest one, the d10 version with the roll x and keep y. The Tsuruchi will definitely be okay, though I need to check my little book of black facts to check up on the Tsuruchi Bow. Bear in mind that there is a fair amount of court and socializing in the g...

Spaces open, rundown.

There's just Tom making his character atm, so there's space. It'll be a fairly relaxed game in terms of joining as I won't be running a group so much as a setting, so as characters go they're just 'attending other duties'. Welcome to join. As for a rundown... the system is oriental in nature, obviou...
