Re: Comic backups?
I keep mine on my hard drive, on a USB key, on an external drive, and on a few different DVDs (all created at different dates and hidden in different places). I suppose that since I draw my comic entirely by hand in sketchbooks and scan them in, I'll always have those at least, but as the comic is w...

Re: Nine (the movie) - warning spoilers
Arrrgh, yeah.... what, are we supposed to think that they're going to repopulate the planet with lots of little robot babies now? There are four of them D8 And they're all mechanical. It's sort of depressing when you think about it.

Re: When you improve but feel like you regress
Most of my best work, I did while not really thinking about it-- I would start a doodle on some crummy sheet of paper that I'd found covered in dust at the bottom of my closet, or covered in marker ink smudges from between two pages of my sketchbook, or something... and it would get bigger and bigge...

Re: Nine (the movie) - warning spoilers
I have to agree with you actually, IVstudios... I felt somewhat underwhelmed coming out of the theatre, but I couldn't place why. Thanks for putting it into words! Especially the point about 9 being so coherent and knowledgeable, right after waking up... there was the chance to do something really p...

Re: Recurring themes, tropes, and habits in your writing
Haha, pretty much my whole story is a pairup of tall & quiet with short & loud XD. Also a number of my stories feature quest-type plots, where the characters cover ridiculous distances in the process of navigating the plot. I also like to go back to themes of magic or science being hideously misused...

Re: [REF] Web Pages you could use...
I was expecting to find this in the thread somewhere, but since it isn't, I may as well link it... as an alternative to default or downloaded fonts (and to hand-lettering or buying font-creation software), there's a site that will create a font from your handwriting for free: http://www.yourfonts.co...

Ah, thanks to everyone who's posted! I rather like the Gosmick Sans font that was posted, so if I make a change I'll probably go with that one (or hand lettering, haha... if it works out) Funny how rare lowercase is in comicking fonts. I suppose most comics do write in all-caps, but still... (And th...

With regards to Comic Sans
I've been using it for the last eighty pages or so of my webcomic, and have since learned the error of my ways-- but unfortunately, I can't seem to locate a suitable alternate. I've looked through the sites like Blambot and 1001freefonts, and they do have some which look nice, but all of the fonts I...
