Re: Remember when I said I may get a new forum?

The changing of the seasons probably. It sucks I know, but then you notice subtle good things that come with it.

Yes even the seasons change in Texas. Hope you're feeling better.

Re: Remember when I said I may get a new forum?

I would say all in all, it's a pretty good collection of webcomics all together, (yours included, you sour puss you.)

If I knew what kind of forum publisher (phpBB etc.) they used I could probably direct you to a user manual. Hopefully you'll figure it out soon.

Re: Remember when I said I may get a new forum?

Yeah just similar to Comic Genesis. Good idea.

Though I have to say, I'm gonna miss the nice bright colors of this forum for the dark greenish wall paint of that forum.

You need to learn how to make a sticky post, hehe.

Re: Remember when I said I may get a new forum?

So is that the new forum, or are you getting a separate new one?

I've actually been to the Sage Webcomics site, but never thought once to look and see if you had a mini-forum there. Interesting.

Re: Remember when I said I may get a new forum?

Well I'm kinda surprised you haven't already, seeing as your comic now belongs to the Sage Webcomics Collective group.

Hopefully if this move does happen, maybe we'll get more people to come there. There's only like a couple of us here that post regularly.

Re: Random thought for the day

Well, at least it's better than the tired and true fierce angry black man, or the other not so refreshing African American "character types" portrayed in usual modern media(TV, Movies, Commercials, etc.).

Re: Random thought for the day

Very right. Japanese animation, at least at the very beginning, was influenced somewhat by American animation studios, such as Disney and the like. Probably because of the United States occupancy of their country post War World 2. Though I think it's well proven that that time period alone, WW2/post...

Re: Random thought for the day

The "Walt Disney of Japan" thing only holds up as far as high-budget animated + family/children films + huge distribution. Right. There's really nothing more than that to the comparison. EDIT: Also I learned today that the movie "Bolt" is not by Pixar, but made by Disney Animation Studios separatel...

Re: Random thought for the day

I do agree with your basic point: animation has gotten softer. I would like to see much more hardcore, darker fare. Batman the Animated Series and the movie from that are good examples. The X-Man animated series was good too, but it didn't push as many boundaries. I don't think American Animation w...

Re: Random thought for the day

Hey Hungry, is your location a nod to San Fernando being the Porn Capital of the World? I did not know San Fernando was the Porn Capital of the World... interesting. But no, it's from a certain film sequel which some critics say was no "Groundhog Day," but I loved it. Sorta on-topic. Watch the movi...

Re: Random thought for the day

"Spirited Away." Seeing as it's probably the easiest of his films to find. That or "Howl's Moving Castle," that's pretty easy to find too. I remember Tuner Classic Movies had a month of his movies showcased by John Lasseter of Pixar. Who he himself is an avid fan of Hayao Miyazaki work. They showed ...

Re: Random thought for the day

The Walt Disney of Japan they call him. I thought that epithet belonged to Osamu Tezuka. (That, and several others, the most impressive being manga no kamisama - the god of comics. But I digress.) I guess it depends on who you ask mostly. But with the high success of both men, you could certain giv...

Re: Random thought for the day

Yeah, Miyazaki's films are awesome. I particularly like how they completely ignore the traditional (Western) way of setting up and telling a story and just do their own thing. If this is a Japanese thing or just a Miyazaki thing, I don't know. I think "Nausicaa" would either scare or bore kids, but...
