Re: Today's comic

That seems a bit too logical to me... I am still not sure what is going on, but it is clear that the line between RL and gaming is meant to be blurred here. That combined with Sarah imagining that shadowy dragon, and the hunter explaining to Mark the impact that geeks can have, I am getting the feel...

Re: Today's comic

Well, Mark did reference his meeting with the hunter at the club two comics ago. Then again, their Shadowrun game was at least partially based on their real world in that the hunters are in it. So, there is the possibility that this person has simply joined in on the game... On the other hand, for a...

Yep... That is what you get when people react rationally... A happy conclusion with minimal conflict... Which means that something else is coming up! (I do like to see a non-geek being so accepting of geek culture as well.)

Ooh! Farscape! I have not seen that show in years! It was one of my favorite shows, and I had pretty much forgotten it... Sorry I cannot stay for the party, Tom. I have to go buy some DVDs now... Oh yeah. I got you a video of some weird Japanese... Bah, watch it and decide what the thing is yourself...

There was a time when a group meeting to practice strange rituals then suddenly chanting in tongues with an outsider witnessing would result in accusations of devil worship and witch burnings. Now it is just good fun!

Glad you liked it.

... It feels strange to post just to say that... Is it more impolite to make short and insubstantial posts like this, or to fail to acknowledge expressed gratitude?

The Warner Brothers' dancing frog is the most likely thing you are trying to recall. The Alien was a parody of that.

Abbie to the rescue... That phrase creates the same kind of mood as the countdown to a building demolition! Though demolitions are usually wanted and carefully planned out... Oh well. Fireworks are fireworks.

Oh, I see. It is not that she is not a geek, but that she has shown a distaste for geek culture, and there was a possibility that she would be completely unaccepting of it. So, now that she has demonstrated a tolerance for it, and the interpersonal skills to get along with geeks, she is no longer co...

I guess I did... I remember people saying she was evil, but I do not remember anyone taking up the other side and defending her. Though so far, all she is guilty of is having dissimilar interests to the rest of the comic's cast. Then again, I guess a non-geek in a comic for geeks and about geeks can...

But, yeah. I know you meant Jess. I just enjoy stating hairbrained theories.

Well, they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer. My guess is that this is just Sarah getting to know her target before destroying it from the shadows! Sarah is the evil one! Or at least the only one with a motive to commit evil so far...

What this game needs is a ref! Upon review of the play, Narf did indeed fumble with his spelling. However, the unsportsmanlike spellchecking committed by the defense after the play cancels it out. Two minutes in the penalty for Occupant for unnecessary rulebook hoarding. Ball on the second base line...

Ok, the Yoritomo family of the Mantis clan does seem like a good one to start with. However, we were warned that this game would be more social than combative, and I noticed that we do not yet have a courtier. I am not confident I could play one well until I learn more of feudal Japanese culture, bu...

The way of the Mantis was not in stock either, but I can see if he has it when I return to the store for the rule book. I think I will most likely go with the clan that has the least ritualized social structure in order to make things a little easier to learn, but if Mantis will be of a greater valu...

Alright. Thanks for giving a newbie a chance. It took some hunting as well as the realization that comic book store owners are not always the most socially adept people, but I finally found someone who will have the book in a few days. He was even nice enough to give me a few books on the ways of th...

Ah, of course! I should have thought to look in comic book stores rather than generic book stores. I look forward to checking those out. Hopefully, it will be a bit of a hunt so I can check out more of them. Thanks for the help.
