Re: Maybe I don't understand referrers... The Goats connection.
The referrer system displays the site a person was looking at immediately before yours. This is usually because there was a link, but if they just went there next, it would display in the referrers. I've gotten amazon.com and my friends' homepages as referrers to my pages before. Or, this could all ...

Re: Ghost Comics!
It seems to have fixed itself, so I didn't even have to re-delete things. Thanks for the help, seriously. Do know what about FireFTP would suddenly make it not do things correctly? I've been using it since the start of my comic, and it's worked just fine until now. Could it just be that I need to upd...

Re: Ghost Comics!
Okay, try this: Use CG's WebFTP Client (also found via the wiki tutorials) to delete and re-upload both your templates. Delete the non-displaying images from your account (see Tutorials in Wiki {link in my sig} for how to do it if you don't know how). Make sure you get the html pages as well. Log i...

Re: Ghost Comics!
Someone else had a similar problem but it was procedural. Do you use the ***todays_notes*** keentag? Or do you add any comments to your comic? Such as having 20080605a.jpg as the comic and then 20080605b.txt as some text? If you have an update that is text-only (such as updating a rant) then the te...

Re: Ghost Comics!
Well, let's start with the obvious ones: Did you name the files in the proper CG way? That's YYYYMMDD.ext (Y being year, M being month, D being day and ext being extension - jpg, gif, png). Did you add anything else? Such as comic.20080512.jpg or 20080512comic.jpg? What software are you using? The ...

Re: Ghost Comics!
Is your image perhaps saved in CMYK rather than RGB mode? I do that to myself a lot, it'll keep your images from showing up but it'll act like they're there. Just hiding! Not that I can tell. I opened both the files again and checked the modes. Both in RGB. I don't think I've ever even changed the ...

Ghost Comics!
I just recently got back to working on my comic now that my semester is over, and uploaded the first comic in a few months a few days ago. It never showed up on my site, either on the front page or in the archives, but since my site's layout is possessed usually anyway, this didn't bother me. I thou...

What seems to have happened is that dreamweaver is inserting a lot of extra HTML that you just plain don't need. You don't need anything between the <style> tags in the head, you don't need <p> tags around the comic and storyline keentags, and you don't need all the extra empty divs around your sho...

Finicky Layout Issues
I'm not well versed in HTML, so I used c.w.'s CSS layout-y thing to give myself a page to look at while my friend makes me a layout specifically for me. In the meantime, I've been fussing in Dreamweaver. The site has been fine for months since. Just recently though, I hit a weird bump. Since I know ...

Uhm... ironically enough, the comic gets in the way of the comic. I'll esplain. I co-write the strip with a friend. She writes one set of characters, or "roles" and I write the other set, or "roles" and then we hash or "play" out the script. Okay, so, the comic is basically scripted by roleplaying ...

You could also do something like this one.
http://magica.comicgen.com/
She's got a German button and an English button. Granted, I think it's all a flash feature, so that might not be what you're after.

My comic was 'written' so to speak, about 11 years ago when my best friend and I were 10. We've kept up on the story for this long and I decided to take it to comic form. I do all the writing for the comic itself, smoothing out what made sense to 10 year old girls but not to anyone else, and supplem...

I'm not totally sure if this counts, as my comic has only been online a few months, but my characters have been around for 10 years.
So I did sorta... both. Yeah.

I made a bit of a compromise. I wanted to see the pages in color, and since my story is character driven, I wanted the people to be really recognizable, which I thought color would help. But, I also didn't really have the time to color the pages, in addition to really not liking coloring in photosho...

I recomend if you're working in color to find a nice way to do color freckles and not use black dots because then you run into this problem I love this comic but whenever a character with freckles is present it bugs me to no end. Though I never seem to tell the artist about it >_>;;; but then it's ...
