Re: Sketchbooks: our canvas, our workplace, our babies
I don't really use a sketchbook any more, since i draw everything on the Ipad i just tend to doodle ideas on that.. Not sure if I could go back to the days of no-undo function or no pinch-zoom. I guess that just makes me a lazy artist, no pressure to draw things correctly first time

Re: 10 Free and Effective Ways to Promote Your Webcomic
The problem I have, is having so many avenues - how do you pin down what's worth investing your time in for advertising? I'm stuck with who I have added on FB who are invited to my comics page, but then how do i expand from there?

Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Hello all! - I used to post on here (probably 4 years ago now..) when i was making my comic Monty and Woolley (www.montyandwoolley.co.uk - subtle plug..) but then i stopped. But now i'm back, and making comics again! Having been browsing round here for a few weeks now, i noticed there seems to be qu...

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I'm finally building a comic buffer so I don't have to worry about getting everything uploaded on time! - And, more importantly, I've started planning out chapters of comics so I don't need to think of content as I'm drawing it..

Re: Inking/Lining - What's your preference?
I've set up several pens on ProCreate, 1 pencil for lineart (more or less HB, but blue..), 1 thin Ink for lining set to go wider the faster i move the brush, then a thicker for the outer edge set to a consistent thickness regardless of brush speed. I always think I can use the pre-built brushes, but...

Re: For all our East Coast pals...
I don't think it's supposed to be too bad around here. 7 to 9 inches, I think they were saying. If that happened here in the UK, they'd shut everything, no one would leave their houses and all hope would be lost. We had 6 inchs recently, and everyone around me was acting like it was the apocalypse...

Re: Any Tips for Site Redesign?
I've recently re-designed my site, and although it's not entirely finished i'm happier with how it looks. I've gone as minimal as I can, because I figure - I don't want to look at advert banners, I imagine no one else does either.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I bought an iPad, and after 4 years of not drawing comics, decided to start again. I guess I stopped because I got into a 'copy-paste' habit and it felt like cheating and a cop out every time I did it, which made me not want to do it so I stopped. And the reason I started doing it in the first place...

Re: Comic Ratings
I use stumbleupon, webcomic lists and google keywords to increase traffic to my site (using wordpress). To be perfectly honest, i never got much traffic through CG using a banner, probably because it locked me to only a single community - and my traffic has increased significantly since i moved away...

Monty and Woolley - back from hiatus
After a taking a short break to try out other projects, i have returned to Monty and Woolley! Come visit the comic at http://www.montyandwoolley.co.uk ! Monty and Woolley updates weekly and sometimes twice weekly (mostly because i don't get paid for this so i don't have the time to do any more) and ...

Re: When Do You Write/Draw?
I don't script in advance, but i have a general idea about what the next comic might be about. Otherwise, i just sit down infront of the computer and stare at the screen until i think of something worth doing..

Re: What do you look for?
I tend to follow links, but in general i will judge a comic on first visual impressions. If the artwork doesn't get me on the first page i look at, i wont bother looking at anything else lol. And since im very picky about artwork lol, i have a short list. Once i'm happy with the artwork, i start fro...

Not really my type of comic im afraid, i do have something against stick figures... - But to be helpful, the layout is good and the content is also good! - My only comment is similar to everyone elses, your handwriting is very hard to decifer in places - Work on that and think you're set!

Re: What if...
Well i was going to read your archives, but i went onto the website and the first strip was a large sign saying haitus...Probably not the best way of getting viewers after a pitch. So i went a comic back and found it a little crude....so i went a few MORE back and they were alright, didn't make me l...
