Telemarketers

It's telefundraisers that have me up in a quandary. How do I tell the operator that I agree that partial birth abortion should be outlawed, religious liberties should be preserved, and all that other hooey, and then turn right around and tell him/her I got no money to put where my mouth is? Makes me...

Re: Morty?

Good evening. Has anyone else noticed that Ben is nekkid? I noticed. And it's a good tactic. The intent here is obviously to literally strip Ben down, deprive him of everything with which he identifies, from his imagined role as a space mercenary, to his real role as a custodian. He must face his se...

Re: Naw...

Even for a Christian, life is not always just as simple as pronouncing the Name of Christ and watching the devil flee. Besides, that'd be horrible writing; almost a "deus ex machina" of sorts. Needless to say, I like Morty. He's my favorite of the posse, so I hope that "Reality" has only incapacita...

Re: Religion and Morality

One possible solution I thought up several years back was to give the AI systems a conscience, so they could decide for themselves not to follow some orders, and not to cooperate with some plans. So if you ask your robot bush to produce nerve gas (or something worse), it would tell you to get stuff...

The fortress may not go along with it.

You know, there is a risk to liberating Petey. The BARF brothers are thinking too far ahead of themselves. Once they restore Petey's free will, which is what BARF wants for all enslaved machines, what happens if Petey freely chooses to do his own thing and not help BARF liberate other enslaved machi...

And look! Slick is wearing a VISOR! I wonder if all the visual info that thing puts out will give him headaches, too.

<p>Here's something you might not have heard of. If Bob O'Link is the smart bird I take him for, he will not have to walk all over Cotton's rantings with commercials for very long, if he has the presence of mind to tape what Cotton is actually saying. <P>Such a tape can easily be cut 'n' pasted to f...

<p>Pantheris proudly told me that he has lost <i>5 pounds</i> over two weeks, and he cites regular karate classes as part of his exercise regimen. <p>And I was thinking that it would be fun to watch Ben Bruin take karate, at least on <i>Under the Lemon Tree</i>. Karate would enable Ben to quickly di...

But, what if... Bob asks Cotton to demonstrate this 'special ability' he has. Cotton tries to tell Bob that none of the listeners will be able to "see it". Bob insists, Cotton does it, and sees Bob's true self. To 'quote' Tavatiana: "With Sight of the Soul, there are no secrets." Of course, Bob wou...

Seriously, when Cotton finds out that his comments were blocked by that ad (which I'm sure one of his friends like Gene will tell him about), Bob's going to have some 'splaining to do. Assuming Cotton is gracious enough to let him live. I've seen how mad this rabbit can get, and that was even befor...

I believe one thing you oughta do is give your characters different types of bodies. In any group of people you're gonna get fat people, skinny people, short people, tall people, all types of body shapes. If your characters are going to be animals, the variation in body shapes is going to be even wi...

Would a Chompetition best be judged in several body weight classes, much like arm wrestling? Or would it be a cheap thing to do to not let everybody go after one trophy?

Ah! I have it. French Creek State Park, one hour's drive from Philadelphia. Campsites without electricity can be had for a little as $72/week. I'll have to suggest that to Max Goof next year. <A HREF="http://www.outdoorplaces.com/Destination/stateparks/pennsylvania/frenchcreek/camping.htm" TARGET=_b...
