How's this one? Do you think I should just stick with one darker color behind the panels? I'm totally new at the whole color thing. What do you mean by it's too saturated? Too bright? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v134/Uncaringmachine/twoheadstalking13.jpg The new background color is a huge imp...

The colors are too garish, and they're clashing. You should try limiting your color palate a little more and seeing where it gets you - one or two supersaturated highlights will go a long way, and you don't want to overwhelm the eye.

To be perfectly honest, it looks like you used filters on some photographs and collaged them together. I also see some pretty sloppy matte lines - that's those white bits around the edge. I'm sorry if this is harsh, but it's just not coherent - the mirror rim is a straight up single tone, the red th...

When you download a font, it usually comes in a zip file. The actual font file (I assume you're using Windows, here) will be inside that, and have an icon of a page with a big letter T on it. You'll know it when you see it. Once you've downloaded it, here's what you do: 1. Unzip, if necessary. 2. Op...

Season two is shaping up to be a set of poorly-conceived character arcs stolen from X-Men (Nikki wants to be cured why, exactly?). And the Honduran twins are easily the best actors out of the new bunch of characters, but their arc looks like it's going to be a series of painfully bland "SYLAR is goi...

It's not a case of pshaw I don't care, what she seems to be doing is making the statement that sexuality doesn't affect things like saving the world and fighting dark wizards. "Pshaw I don't care" is a position I have no issue with. But I think it's a little telling that so many people here don't u...

I get why a lot of people don't care, but why would you say it doesn't matter? If you'd ever been in a minority, I guarantee you would have been in a situation at some point in your life where you wondered where the people like you were. I doubt many people have lost sleep over lack of Harry Potter ...

I liked Spiders. That guy used flash functionality to occasionally sneak in bits of code that enforced some degree of audience participation. Not enough to affect anything, of course, I'm talking "reading a book in MYST" level here, but it was kind of like breaking the fourth wall in reverse. But an...

I use the locked layers method, but I do it without selection tools. It's a lot more intuitive my way (no distracting ant-crawling selections), but it means a LOT of layers. Basically you set the outline layer to "Multiply", make it as high-contrast as possible, then make separate layers under it fo...

You should really try out the JPG and GIF formats. They lose a lot if you want to print from the compressed versions, but 300 KB is huge for a comic. Few people will begrudge the time it takes to load one, but nobody wants to wade through an archive of huge image files. If you want a reference, my c...

Fern Gully! Man, I loved that sludge monster. But the part in the bat's rap where he goes all sparky and shadowy always made me really uncomfortable.

I used to read epic fantasy basically only because of the huge page counts (I was tired of spending $80 at the bookstore every two months), and I'll read pretty much anything with a half-decent plot or even a sense of forward momentum. But I gotta tell you, Terry Goodkind is the worst author I've ev...

I was a weird little kid - I saw Watership Down when I was eight, and had no scarring. I remember it vividly, of course, but I didn't find it particularly disturbing.

I did, however, live in FEAR of Ursula the Sea Witch. At least, when she was in human form. Betentacled Ursula I was oddly fine with.

Robin, your black and white work is incredible. The color was actually distracting a little from how how excellent your sense of value and light is. Personally, I do full-color. My stuff looks good enough in black and white that I could get by without it, but I find it a lot easier to use color for ...
