Hey Everyone! Well I’ve been continuing to experiment a little on my free time, it’s been kinda busy with school and a few annoying set-backs I had. Basically my computer frying itself and loosing all my comic data :/ like scripts and character sheets. Needless to say that was extremely frustrating ...

Thanks guys for your advice! I think I will stick with the hand drawing and coloring, I'm more used to that then working digital and I also have a limited amount of technology avilable to me at the moment. I just may mess around with some other mediums until I get something that I like. I don't mind...

Thank you for the encouragement, it certainly helps. Hmm yeah the watercolor can be nice but it can also be a royal pain in the rear; because it can be so unpredictable at times. I also use colored pencil a tad bit of marker and pen with these. I thought about using less watercolor and using mainly ...

More coloring/drawing advice

Hey all, I need some more coloring and drawing advice. Basically I’ve decided to put my comic on hold for the time being, due to the fact with my work and school schedule being so nuts threes no way I’ve been able to keep up with any schedule. And I hate missing schedule deadlines. So I decided to p...

I'd say my comic challenges my skills, mostly in the anatomy department, poses and getting the scenes to look the way I invision them too (many times without as much success as I would like) but challenges can be good (if sometimes annoying) and hopefully it will help improve my artistic skills.

Hmm lets see... 1. What do you include on your character info pages? Defiently include a picture of the characters (I need to do this myself). And then maybe a little background information and maybe a short description of the characters personality. Bassically enough that the reader can get a brief...

Well I certainly plan on adding enough information, or detail in the comic, either by visually showing things or naration (if the situation calls for it) that I wouldn't have to have a world info page. The main idea is to maybe give readers a small reference page or a brief overview of how stuff wor...

I think I will go ahead and add a world information page, mostly for just tidbits of information and some setting info for the readers that like pages like that. I'm going to be careful to not add any spoiler info though and just put up info that I've finalized with the comic. So I don't have to wor...

Hmmm thats a good idea, I could always just add information about the place the characters are at. I've been working on some maps as well, not only cause they look cool but it helps me keep track of where I want stuff to go, lol.

I really like the world information page on your site as well.

World Information

Hey I have a question for you experenced Fantasy and Science Fiction comic artists. With other world based comics is it a good idea to put a "world information" page on the comic website? The comic I'm doing is based on a completely different world (for the moment) with its own races, climate, habit...

hmm ideal for me would be about twice a week, but I doubt I'm going to be able to handle that with my current schedule. So I'm going to try for a once a week update and see how it goes.

Hmm well I defiently have some boundries when it comes to what I will and won't draw. Most of the boundries is stuff I am just not comfortable drawing and would not want to go there. It's also a factor that since I am not comfortable with it I doubt I could write or draw it in such a way that could ...

I think it looks wonderful! I love the wide variety of colors that you used to create the effect you wanted. As far as having too much of the crayons showing, I think is more of just a personal preference depending on what you want the comic to look like.

I agree that hand coloring has been pretty time consuming, but I'm liking it better than digital coloring for the look I'm getting. The watercolors, markers, colored pencails are getting a very nice earthy feel to the comic and the landscapes look nicer in my opinion. But I am also not very skilled ...

Thanks Io! Yeah that is one thing I'll have to work on, is making sure to keep concistant updates with this kind of coloring as I tend to be a pretty busy person as well. Hopefully it will go well. Joel, I'll look into that. Though I will say this is an underground cavern and suppose to have a vast,...

Thanks for your help! After some experementation I've decided to go ahead and color by hand and touch-up, enchance and do some things digitally as well. I kinda like how it turns out to look pretty "artsy" looking. Heres and example. The first one isn't completely colored, it was just an experement,...

Yep I have a wide variety of pens and brush pens, since I do alot of traditional artwork with pens, mainly stipple. I was using the black marker tool to ink in digitally. I really wish I could afford a tablet for my digital work, but unfortuently I can't at the moment, so I'm stuck using a mouse. Th...
