Re: Genuine Draft- A Nice Happy Place To Eat At...
New Story Time! "It's a nice happy place to eat at..." Begins 2-7-10 and ends in a few weeks. Gonna spend a few weeks at the newly rebuilt Burgatory. Lot's of humor to get away from the over seriousness of the past few storylines. The world has been reset and things are getting back to normal. I enj...

Re: Genuine Draft- New Story Begins!
Finally, Genuine Draft has ended the long running X-Mas Story 2009. I enjoyed making it and reading it. On 3-28-09 I began an alternate time line story that ended in November of 2009. With the X-Mas story it's been a long time since I've been in the "real" world of Genuine Draft. Now return with me ...

Re: Genuine Draft- x-mas 2009 Begins 11-21
The Genuine Draft X-Mas 2009 spectacular is still going with daily updates. It finishes a week into January with a wonderful message on the holiday. As for other Genuine Draft news, I've scripted into March. Need to finish all of the new sets and get filming. My goal is to be at least 6 months of co...

Re: What's with the Vampire faggotry nowadays?
I tried to read the first book. It was laying around at a friends house while I was visiting. It reads like a vampyre fan fic by a 13 year old girl. 1 & 1/2 chapters and I was done.

Re: Genuine Draft- x-mas 2009 Begins 11-21
http://www.dreamersink.com/gd/image/xmastitle.jpg When I started comicking, I've always had an idea for an X-Mas story. I've never been able to work it in. Usually because of the 2 to 3 months I work ahead. 2008 was in the middle of getting the comic started so I didn't plan anything out. There was...

Re: Comic backups?
All materials are on an external 1 tb hdd. Then from there all pics are burned to a cd and all scripts are printed out. If I have to start over as long a I have the pictures and scripts I am fine. I'm aboot to have to start burning to a dvd due to size issues.

Re: Genuine Draft- Battlemark Act:2 Has begun.
Interesting. I've never had anyone say that about Gen Draft.SevenCurrents wrote:That's great and all, but I still cant tell who or what I'm supposed to be looking at half the time. Everything kinds washes together and It takes a lot of eyestrain to focus on anything in particular. Story seems neat, though.

Re: What's your excuse
a) For not getting your work done at a timely time I work months in advance. The biggest challenge has been trying to work around the roomies when I need more space and occupy the dining room. b) For not fixing things that you (and perhaps others) percieve to be wrong with your art It's kinda hard t...

Re: Genuine Draft- Battlemark Act:2 Has begun.
The latest, chapter if you will in the ongoing BattleMark storyline is "Convergence of Participants". The end is nigh. And not tomention the need for getting everything done before the roomies come home and I have to dissassemble the monster set. The basic plot is everyone involved in BattleMark has...

Re: Harry Potter Comics! (**warning: includes spoilers**)
Interesting concept. I have an affection for Lego comics. My biggest issue is the dialog balloons. They don't always flow naturally to hold a conversation. Not much else to say, it's bookmarked. I noticed in a comment you are from Colorado, so far that makes 3 Lego comickers from there. You, myself ...

Novel. Simply cuz it's been in novel form. Originally a comic book. Then a novel. Now comic strip.

The next storyline has begun with No.258. Battlemark Act:2.
There's also a new behind the scenes added to the site. Get an idea of what goes while making the comic.

Re: Genuine Draft- Behind The Scenes Section Added
I have added a behind the scenes section to Genuine Draft's website. It has pictures of what the sets look like before filiming. Descriptions about them, what I like about them, and other stuff. In the future I'll be adding a copy of the way I script GD. And in the works is a step by step of how I m...

Re: Stiff artwork - need tips and tricks
Try finding some action pictures. People running, football, basket ball, mixed martial arts, people walking and copy them to get a feel for how things look. It's one of the few things a useless art teacher actualy said that was good. It's kinda like moving still lifes.

Re: How long did you wait to "pimp" your comic?
I had 30 strips up and running, which is a month. I waited that long in order to get used to updating daily. Now around 4 pm I get itchy if I don't get an update on time. I don't actively promote either. Not willing to pay for ads, I hate advertising in general. I do put up a sigbanner in the forums...

Re: How long are your chapters/seasons/volumes/whathaveyou?
I write linear. So until that particular story ends it just goes. 4 was the minimum, 45 is the max so far. But I also do update daily. I break the story line in to chapters just to keep things from being confused. I look at the comic in the terms of Year 1, Year 2, and so on.

Well Lego has a fair use policy which basically says have fun, just don't use our name or imply LEGO™ has anything to do with it.
