Re: Status for this Year

It's looking like:

We've come to the last hurdle. All we have to do is get over that, and we might very well be getting somewhere! Fingers crossed, folks!

Re: Status for this Year

Folks: We are determined to get the WCCAs up and running again this year, but we're equally determined that we're going to do it completely through our web voting site. Unfortunately, the nomination portion of the site isn't working right. So we've got our Computer Guy hammering away at it and will ...

2008 Nomination Overview, Part 1

Folks: We've had a few requests from creators wondering how many nominations their webcomics got in the recently concluded WCCA round. This proved to be a more difficult question to answer than we thought at first because Mark, Frank, and I each used different methods to tally up the nomination ball...

2008 Statistical Round-Up

As far as I can tell, this is the full list of those comics and creators who have won awards and those that have made the final ballots but haven't won since the first awards were given out in 2001. The format is alphabetical--it's the library clerk in me: I can't help it--so you have the name, then...

Can't it? :)

Hey, I was wondering why Penny Arcade is up for some, didn't they say a while ago that they weren't interested and didn't want to be included? I haven't heard anything to that effect: All I know is that they've had nominations every year since 2003 though they haven't won anything since 2004. I'm a...

Not necessary:

If a comic gets enough nominations, and we're not already familiar with it, it'll be easy enough for us to look it up for the Final Ballot. :)

Nope:

Unless you've changed your e-mail since last year. 'Cause I'll be sending ballots to whatever addresses I've got on file. In your case, it's the gmail address, so I'm guessing that's still good. :)

Nomination Round Begins Monday, Jan. 7th

Folks: Due to the curse that afflicts the technical side of things here at the WCCA, we'll be conducting the nomination round once again this year by e-mailed ballots. I'll be sending the ballots out to the 1,000 or so registered voters Sunday and Monday, so if you're registered and you don't get a ...

Tracy was nominated in 4 categories in 2007 and won all 4 of those. You have indicated 3, 0. The way I look at it: Lackadaisy the comic was nominated in three categories while Ms. Butler was nominated separately in the Outstanding Artist category. After all, when Shaenon Garrity won Outstanding Wri...

Voting Procedure

Here's what we're hoping: Sometime this weekend, we'll be sending out everyone's passwords as well as the link to the voting site. Once you log in there, though, you'll have to vote the whole ballot at once--you can't do half, then come back and do the rest. After you've clicked your choice in each ...
